Manila V.O. - Waiting for the Passport with the Visa

Hi guys.. its been a while since i posted my landing experience. Eto na nman ako, nabuhay ulit.. hehe.. its a good sunny day today in Surrey,BC.. already 7pm but the sun is still up. :-).... right now, nag-aayos ng papers for my para ma-evaluate sa Technologist Certification dito sa BC.. then at the same time attending interviews... may program nga pala dito ang govt for new immigrants, attend ka ng 10 week training nila with pay, o ha ikaw na tuturuan ikaw pa babayaran.. at per hour pa hehe.. minimum pero naman ite-train ka on resume writing, handling interviews, soft skills training, time management etc etc.. then saka ireready ka sa job market dito.. hanggang makakuha ka ng full time job.   Not bad... medyo stiff nga lang competition kasi 12 pax per batch lang and they have been screening hundreds of applicants   Kaya when you land here, or any province, hanap agad kayo ng mga resource centers for immigrants and unemployed citizens.. dami ditong ganun... funded by the govt.

kaya sa mga waiting for visa, maximize your time jan sa Pinas.. prepare yourself emotionally din pala. Yung patience at emotional learnings brought about nung waiting waiting natin ng visa is a big help...

yung lang muna po... hope dumating na mga inaantay ninyo.. maganda ang temp ngayon dito... malamig pero papainit na rin ng konti kasi malapit na summer... best time to land in Canada sabi nila...

thank u for ur advice, msyado akong nafrustrate dahil sa wlang ngDM last week! but since saturday hndi ko na iniisip ang paghihintay, in other words i stopped whining and started sending out resumes. mas maganda pla siyang pastime ksa mghintay kc mas naeexcite akong mkapunta na doon! positive thoughts!

hi. i have the same concern...sakin my visa validity is sept 18, so maybe di ko nalang i-enroll daughter ko knowing na ilang months nalang before my validity (and still no visa, huhuhu). hope this helps!

Same boat! Btw guys, ever heard of anyone getting denied during the PPR? I really hate doubting...  I hope everyone bukas will update everyone on their status. I'm positive madaming DM tomorrow.  Kasi GREEN team is next!

the waiting game is really challenging, the longer you wait the better person you could be... plus the sweetest the fruit you will reap! kailangan mo lahat ng challenges na iyan (i realized it now) para maka-survive ka dito. kasi kung dito ka ma-challenge at di mo naranasan lahat ng iyan jan sa Pinas, chances are you'll end up depressed and stressed dito sa canada big time!

havent heard from other foum members who already landed... and im sure each one have their own stories to tell... baka shy, baka busy sobra.. baka super challenged.. hehe.. we dont know.

Basta sa lahat ng nag-aantay jan... make yourself busy.. try na ninyo apply apply to test your marketability... kung di nio pa alam kung saan mag-land, try to apply in different provinces. hehe..

Hi Noelcezh, we had the same problem.  We talked to the school and they allowed enrollment for 1st quarter only.  Pro-rated ang tuition fee based on # of months enrolled.  Sept 25 is our visa expiry.  Sayang naman kung naka-tambay lang at manonood ng TV ang bata.

i second that! just my opinion, it's better not to enroll ur kids kc for sure irerelease nmn nila ang visas natin before visa expiration. sayang din kc yung money na pwede na nating baunin papuntang canada!

nga pala guys, si faithfully hopeful may PPR na,nov ang visa expiry nya. so that means tlagang irerelease na nila sept and oct kc nagpapasubmit na sila ng mga nov...hay positive thoughts!

Ilang araw lang ako di nakapaglog in, andami ng posts! Di ako makahabol.

Keep the faith sa mga waiting sa visa. Darating din yan. As I've said, 9 days short of 6 years ang pinaghintay ko. Pero blessing in disguise kasi instead na single akong narito sa Canada, kasama ko na si hubby and baby.  

Alam nyo ba, di na inuubo't sipon ang baby namin. Sa Pinas, laging may ubo't sipon kasi may asthma. Kung may dapat ipagpasalamat, hiyang dito ang baby namin.

Kanina nga pala, we walked 6 km (to and fro), sa paglalakad kasi napafamiliarize tayo sa mga landmarks, sa lugar di ba? Naghanap kami ng Catholic church. Lo and behold, Pinoy ang priest! Nakakatuwang makakita ng kapwa Pinoy dito. After church, pumunta kami sa Canadian Tire, bumili ng gloves, paper towel, batteries. Pinay yung cashier pero dedma sa amin. English pa rin sya with matching accent.   Syempre, sale ang hinanap namin sa Canadian Tire (by the way, it's like ACe hardware sa atin). Ganun dito, kung alin ang sale, yun ang binibili. Di na pwede yung style naming mag-asawa na kung alin ang branded, yun ang binibili. Nagiging practical kami dito. Tapos, kumain kami sa McDonald's. Big Mac with large frees and large Coke plus caesar side salad, almost 11 dollars na. Then last stop namin was Shopper's Drug Mart. Again, sale ang hanap namin. We bought bottled water (4 gallons, .99 cents). Sale din ang Always sanitary pads, 16 pcs, 3.99 dollars. At yung diaper, di sale ang Pamper's (21 dollars) kaya yung Life brand ang binili namin, 52 pcs, 9.99 dollars. O di ba, basta sa pagbili namin ng sale, nakatipid daw kami ng almost 11 dollars, according sa kwenta sa receipt.

Isa pa pala, kahit 6 km ang nilakad namin (naka stroller pala si baby- kung may baby kayo, dalhin nyo ang stroller nya, super convenient!), di man lang ako pinawisan, di naglapot. At ang sky, walang smog. Sa Pinas, di nyo ako mapaglalakad ng ganyan. Siguradong naka-taxi na ako. Anywayze, kahit di ako pinawisan, alam kong nakapag exercise ako just by walking.

Maganda ung enroll sa kumon. Ang sa amin is we coordinated with the school principal so ok namn kahit late enrollee ang mga bata dahil nga undecided kung enroll pa. We told them is for possible migration. Tapos kung ilan months lang cila nasa school ung lang ang babayaran. Dahil nga sa trend kaya ganun ang naging plano namin. Ito so happened na dumating si visa and tuloy tuloy na.

Tama naman ang trending sa schindler's list. Kaya humanda na.

salamat sa lahat na nagreply. talagang worried na worried ako dahil papalapit na naman ang pasukan pero we decided na lang na wag ng ienroll kasi oct ang expiration ng visa namin siguro naman di naman lalampas ang oct na hindi namin natatanggap ang visa namin. kaya lang minsan di rin mapakali si misis dahil sa tagal ng paghihintay natin para bang kung ano ano ng ang sumasagi sa isip nya. na baka di matuloy, o baka umulit uli ang medical hay..... wag naman sana. pero eto parin tayo keep on praying and hoping na sana ma release na ang mga visa natin. sana this june sabay sabay na ang  pag release ng mga visa natin!!!

m2canada and to the rest (OCT. applicants) sabi daw uli ng agent ko this coming june daw ang dating ng mga visa imposible daw na dumating ng july dahil masyado na daw talagang late yun wish ko lang totoo nga sana.!!!! wahhh!!!!
