GUYS JUST WANT TO ASK, do we need na ung ating papers like birth cert. marriage contracts NBI and others be authenticated by DFA? red ribboned??? di ba other countries required un? how about in canada, ok lang bang walang authentication ung mga sa ating docs? nagpa authenticate kc ako ng lto cert sa dfa, its hard pala takes 3 hrs... and ang daming fixers sa labas na nagkukunwaring applicants din..

hello, I never had any of my documents authenticated by DFA or red ribboned. Yung LTO certificate ko as is tinangap naman dito. Importante talaga is yung landing papers initially. When I signed my contract for work they never asked for any supporting documents. Pero ang daming technical / situational questions hehehehehe depende siguro sa field  Wink

Dont take my word. It is always better to be prepared.  Wink

God Bless and keep the faith!

In our case di na kami kumuha nang International drivers license, we only ask for a certificate from LTO na we had a good driving status and no accident... Pag dating namin dito sa vancouver we went to ICBC para mag upgrade sa license ko... I have a Pro license sa pinas, ang binigay ko lang sa clerk was my Pro drivers license with the certificate then after I took the knowledge test, it took me 6 road tests bago ako naka pasa for a Class 5 drivers license which is equivalent sa Pro sa pinas...

Check my blog since its base from my own experience at very helpful for new immigrants...

http://kabayansacanada.blogspot.com

check ICBC also...

http://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing/moving-bc/moving-dl/other_most

more guide from ICBC...

http://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing/moving-bc/driving-experience

Thank you so much... but how about in Ontario do u think its the same? thanks

with or without LTO certificate...you will need to take written & road test. just present your Phil DL so that you dont need to enroll in driving school.

i think he/shes talking about Phil drivers license & didnt count for driving experience. good thing I already got US DL & no need for written/road test anymore & will get full DL.

Licensing requirements:

90-day time limit
To drive legally, you must switch to a B.C. driver's licence within 90 days of moving here. During this time, you can keep driving with your existing licence.

Two years' driving experience
To be eligible for a full-privilege B.C. driver's licence, you must have held a driver's licence (not a learner's) for at least two years.
If you can't provide proof of two years' driving experience, you can still get a B.C. licence. However, you will have to go through our graduated licensing program.

Hay sa wakas nga pero balik din ako agad hehe. dami pa responsibilities sa work ska idispose pa. Oo pre active pa ung thread kasi dami naipit sa london VO ata. Keep us posted sa mga pangyayari jan sa canada dito sa pinas sangdamakmak ang mga nangyayari hehe good or bad hehe.

We'll be staying for around 3 weeks then balik pinas. Unfortunately vancouver tlaga ung POE lahat ng flights from manila to calgary this time of year.

Hi BMike.... we deposited the USD bank draft  we brought when we landed pra di na nmin dalin pabalik after a yr. it took 7-10 days ang clearing. if Phil bank draft mas matagal cguro. we opened US Dollar acct & CAD acct. last december mganda ang exchange rate kya transfer ko fr USD to CAD thru internet banking... 1.2CAD = 1USD exchange rate. marami nman RBC branch just incase we will not stay sa Winnipeg where we open our acct. nag apply na rin ako ng credit card pra nman may credit history na rin kami pagbalik.

when ba expiration ng visa mo? before october 2012 b?!? sure k na b sa calgary? why dont u open a bank acct & deposit your settlement fund pra di mo na dalin pagbalik mo and wala ka ng de declare. atleast may acct ka na if u want to do wire transfer fr Phil.

hello po. sa mga nakaalis na o papaalis pa lang, need po ba ipresent/declare sa immigration dito sa pinas na we're bringing more than 10K in foreign currency? may documents ba, permit of some sort, na kailangang iprepare para pwede tayong magdala ng foreign currency palabas ng bansa? naniniguro lang po. alam mo na dito sa atin, bawat kilos permit dito permit dun...

Expiry ng visa namin eh april 2012 eh. actually di pa kami sigurado kung mgsettle kami or what ung 3 weeks stay na un eh for us to check ung living standards sa canada mejo ok na kasi pa kami sa pinas although ang paglipat namin eh for our kids talga kaya dalhin din namin pabalik ng pinas ung bank draft. Sure na calgary kasi nandun mga sisters ko and dun kami stay until magkawork either me or wife.

good idea na sana ung ginawa mo pero kami di pa kami 100% sure na lilipat tlaga sa canada baka isagad pa namin ung 3 years out of canada.

btw do you need to file for income tax return sa canada for income you earn in US or Phil for that matter since PR ka na jan?

may form sa NAIA or sa philippine airport in declaring if you bring in or out any foreign currencies equivalent to USD 10,000. this includes cheques or drafts ha di lang hard currencies. per BSP rule yan.

in most cases kasi di na tinatanong sa NAIA airport ung mga paalis kung may dala silang ganung kalaking pera. pero pagdating sa canada airport or POE eh sure un tatanungin ka at kailangan mong ideclare.
