Hello from Banff! Smiley Nagroad trip kaming maganak, left Regina at 5am and got here at 4pm. Habang byahe but I got to see the Canadian "country side" and I have to say naappreciate ko talaga natural beauty ng bansang ito. From the prairies of SK hanggang sa Canadian rocky mountains...sobrang nice, bukas we'll explore the area, looking forward to seeing a grizzly bear! Haha
Nalibang ako magdrive ha, umabot ako sa 140kph tapos bigla ko naalala may speed limit nga pala Smiley natuwa din ako, kahit saan kami magstopover may Pinoy kaming nakikita- from Swift Current to Medicine Hat and Strathford, pati dito sa Banff.

Hi Mitz!!!

I have lived in so many cities and provinces na including Oakville,ON (which is 45 minutes from Toronto) and Calgary,AB. Both have their pros and cons. But I would suggest Alberta, as I have seen some of my friends living in Toronto that moved to Alberta (calgary, edmonton, red deer, fort mcmurry etc) kasi sa job opportunities and mas malaki ang sahod sa AB (Alberta). But be prepared na rin sa laki/mahal ng standards of living dun. My step son told us that rent there is around $1100-$2000 and up na daw. Pinakamura na daw yun. I haven't talked to him about it lately, puro work na lang daw kasi naatupag nilang mag-asawa. Also it's in the news here that workers/employees in AB get paid 21% more than anywhere else in Canada.
Not so sure about this info though....that foreign workers in AB are only allowed to stay in Canada in an accumulative total of 4 yrs...then they have to wait another 4 years to get the chance to re-apply. Me co-worker din pala stepson ko na pinoy na sinabi niya na his 4 years is up,that was last Nov.2010. I have yet to confirm this.....

Hopefully yung mga seniors natin dito eh ma-confirm or disprove this info.

Thanks Tigerlily at least now mas maliwanag na sa akin difference ng dalawa, I think Alberta will be my first choice now. Madami dami na rin ako natanong and most of them Alberta ang sinasabing mas maganda.  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Hi guys, I'm sorry if I'm off topic. I would like to ask to those who have already landed if we are still required to have an
updated nbi clearance before departing the country for Canada? Do we still need it at the airport? Or do we need it when finding a
job in Canada? Thank you and I hope you can help me with my question. Thanks!

No Paul, they do not look for an NBI clearance at your port of entry (Vancouver,BC). They usually look for passport (where your visa is stamped).
Canadian employers  will look for a local (where you live and want to work) abstract background check only done by the local police or RCMP,if they need it. Most jobs don't require it. This background checks are only done with your permission. And most employers know that you've been checked and double checked  by CIC before you even get approved to get into Canada.

In my case NO. They didn't even look at my other documents....it's only the passport they looked at (and of course my plane ticket  Cheesy Cheesy)
