Thank you for your reply.
I am from Manila. I actually already asked around . Asian Eye said that we need to undergo a one day test, kasi they will inject pa daw dye to determine if our eyes is affected by our diabetes. I'm looking for an optha who has already issued such certification to the Canadian Embassy para sana sigurado yong kanyang gagawin.

Anyway, thank you very much

You are welcome po.

Yes I am very familiar with the "dye" po and that is still part of the physical exam that I mentioned. I am just wondering about the whole day waiting for that result. Anyway po, your case is not that serious, I hope you avoid doctors who take advantage of you guys going abroad. The opthalmologist that I e-mailed you about is reputable and he had released quite a lot of medical certificate to applicants going overseas without asking for more fees, however he is too far. I trust there are more opthalmogists in Manila whom you can 100% percent trust. God bless po.

Just want to share my experience at my medical.

I went to St. Lukes Extension at Jorge Bocobo.  They have very polite staff and very systematic and orderly procedure.  I waited for the result of my ecg and chest xray.( they start calling out names by 3 p.m). Tapos ang medical ko within a day. I went there at 8:30 and done before 5 p.m.

May I suggest though that way before you go for medical at the accredited Canadian clinic,  have a chest xray taken by a private doctor . The reason for this is because Canada is very strict when it comes to contagious diseases such as t.b.  I met some who's xray result showed problem with their lungs and they are told to come back for 3 consecutive days for  sputum test. This will delay your departure. Sputum will be cultured for 3 months. This means that it's only after 3 months that they will know if you are positive or negative. If the sputum test turns out to be positive, they will require you to go to a pulmonologist for treatment. Actually after a medication of an anti-tb drug called Rifampicin and Ethambutols the  sputum may become  NEGATIVE in two weeks time  (total treatment will be 6 months therapy) but the clinic will require you to finish the 6 months full therapy. Hence, another 6 months delay.

When you receive a letter from CIC Canada for medical, you are required to undergo medical within 30 days from the receipt of the letter. Therefore even before you receive the letter, in order to avoid this delay, I reiterate that you go for a chest xray on your own. Pag may nakitang problem, go to a pulmologist right away to get the medication. This is to ensure that when you go to the Canadian accredited clinic you are sure to pass your chest xray.

They are not strict with diabetes and hypertension.

By the way, St. Lukes Extension requires 6 photos instead of the 2 stated in the CIC letter.

For further info, I received my request for medical 2 months after my  daughter received the letter that she qualifies to sponsor me. They sent the letter for medical to my email address.

May this little feed back help those who are still awaiting their medical.....

Hi po again,

If you don't mind. Can you share this along with your timeline in this thread http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/parents-sponsership-joine-here-t91654.6045.html

Please mention that you are from the Philippines, but your visa office is OTTAWA. This should help other members who filed application on 2007.

Hey guys we just got our Visa's!!!  Shocked Tongue
We submitted our passports in January and the issued visa stamp was at January 8, 2012 and we only got it today(Aug 4).
There are 3 of us my parents and I(dependent). Although our ecas still shows In-process

Hey dags,

You remember we chatted in other thread you are following, I hope. I did not missed cheering with you. I am wondering about your application status. Did you ever had "Medical Results Received" somewhere inside that "In Process"?

Wish you guys a safe and happy travel.

They are very strict when in comes to chest x ray. These are the most common case sa medical.  Kunting makita lang sa lungs, they will  immediately require one to undergo a sputum test.. This sputum test will delay the processing. The sputum culture  alone is 3 months. Pag positive, applicant is required to go to a pulmologist for medication. With the medicine, mga 6 weeks lang magaling na ang lungs however the accredited clinic will require the patient to wait till the full  complete 6 months medication is done. Therefore, mga 9 months and delay. I suggest, mag pa chest xray na yong parent mo sa private clinic before sila mag pa medical sa accredited clinic. IN CASE, IN CASE LANG ha, may findings they can go to a private pulmologist where they will be prescribed a medicine to take. After 6 weeks, then that's the time they go to the accredited clinic.
