Mailing FBI After Application

We have everything ready but we just mailed for the FBI check and dont want to wait 2 month for the results. From reading an older thread it looks like we can send in our application and then send the FBI results later?  Does anyone have any previous experince with this ?

I did do this, I did end up getting a request for the FBI certificate at which point I did email Buffalo and indicate I had mailed it and the tracking # and all that stuff. I waited to send it until I had the labels from the AOR/sponsorship approval first.

ok so for the checklist that you handed in with the package did you check off the the box that says ?
Originals of police certificate and clearences

Also did you send in a letter saying that you will send them once you get them?

Anything else you did?

I did not check it and attached a note indicating that I had sent it, xyz date and xyz tracking number. That I would forward it along when received, or requested.

The only negative is the possibility of it getting lost on its way to Buffalo. I ended up insuring it and requesting a signature upon arrival so at least I could say - you have it there, somewhere?!

Forgot to add, there is some thought to it delaying the application some - while they reget your file, ect. but I felt that although I was toward the end of my 'group' of filers last year in July - it was not that large of an impact. I think I was maybe 2 weeks behind them which may or may not have been a result of the FBI cert... never will know.

well we just sent the fbi request and we have everything else ready we called the fbi office they said 2 month wait and there is nothing they can do to make it faster.  We dont want to wait 2 month for the fbi results to arrive to hand in the application.

After you sent in the application how long did it take for them to ask you for the fbi results?

I sent it to them 9/23 and I got a letter 10/18 requesting it. I then emailed them and indicated I'd already sent it.
A decision was made 11/2 on my file, so it was pretty quick after they asked and I told them.
My FBI cert took just a few days past 2 months to process, and the whole process totally took just shy of 4 months.

ok well I sent the the forms to the FBI a week ago.  Do you think I should send in the application right now to get things going tell I get the FBI results back?

Well in my case, I shaved 1 1/2 months off (perhaps) if you look at it taking 2 months to get the FBI cert. Then it took 2 weeks from when they requested my FBI cert (CIC) to make a decision = 2 months-2 weeks = 1 1/2 months. I'd send it, myself.
