Hello,
I've just received my PPR from Immigration. They're requesting my passport be sent to the Detroit office.
The email clearly states, that if you're from a country in which you do not require a visa to enter, then you can send in a copy of your passport, and not the passport itself.
I'm Australian, so I fit this category.

Has anyone else done this? I need to hold onto my passport as my current visa expires in August, so if I don't get the passport back in time, I can still cross the border and have my visa renewed.

I think I'll be safe, but just hoping to hear from anyone who has done it. Any issues? Anyone heard any stories?

I assume it's when I actually cross the border is when I get my card and visa stamp and all that?
