Removal of pre 28 feb applicants and now 1 july 2012 is the part of programm to reduce backlog, and my judgment is MI1,MI2 AND MI3 will be in the same boat. Thousands of MI1 applicants have received 6 to 12 months wait letters, 6 to 8 months completed and LVO will deal with MI1,MI2 AND MI3 with the same stick

Hey guys
Good news for all the applicants who are waiting to get MR and PPR, but on the other side bad news for all those who were planning to apply on 1st july 2012 as the Canada govt have temporarily stopped accepting new application. They will start to receive new application from the January 2013. Just they want to introduce some new changes and to clear the backlog.

Has anyone send their RPRF payment by wire transaction rather than sending them a bankers draft?

I am thinking of paying it this was way rather than the draft but it I haven't seen anyone asking about this method only the draft.

I tried going to my bank to do the direct bank payment as I thought that would be quick and easy but they came back and said they couldn't do it from my bank, I would have to go to a Barclays bank and pay it there.  I didn't have the time as the nearest Barclays is quite far from me so I just ended up paying by bank draft.  Don't know if this helps, I live in Scotland and don't bank with the best of banks!!

Thanks Possie. I bank with Barclays so hopefully it shouldnt be much of a problem. I may look at some other companies though as banks try to screw you on charges for these kind of transfers when others are far better. Will have to investigate properly though.

Skilled workers and professionals - Who can apply

Skilled workers are people who are selected as permanent residents based on their ability to become economically established in Canada.

Federal skilled worker applications are assessed for eligibility according to the criteria set out below.

For your application to be eligible for processing, you must:

    have a valid offer of arranged employment, OR
    be an international student enrolled in a PhD program in Canada (or graduated from a Canadian PhD program within the past 12 months) and meet certain criteria.

Note: As of July 1, 2012, CIC has temporarily stopped accepting applications for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). This temporary pause does not apply to those with a qualifying job offer or applying under the PhD stream. We will likely start accepting applications again when the revised FSWP selection criteria take effect. Proposed FSWP changes should come into force in early 2013.
