Wrong advice from friends.

Passengers from Asia to Canada and USA are still allowed for  PIECE CONCEPT on their checked baggages as:

2 pieces weighing max 23 kg = 46 Kg

Hand baggage : limited to one 7 to 10 kg according to airlines . Ladies bag plus lap tops can be carried additionally.

check Qatar airlines for example:

No problem, you can always pay for more baggage allowance (airlines like receiving money) Smiley

Cheesy It is always wise to check with the agent while booking the tickets. If prefer online booking,  go to baggage rules prior to  finalizing the deal.

I have checked yesterday , British Airways from india to toronto will allow the following :

23 kg x 2 = 46 kg ( checked in luggage) per person ONLY FROM INDIA plus hand baggage decent enough to be carried by the passenger himself + laptop and purse too .

You can carry additional baggage ( limiting to 23 kg ) per bag uptil 10 nos. of baggages per person by paying 32 pounds for 1st additional bag and then 72 pounds from the 2nd additional bags until the 10th bag.

Note : this facility is used by my friends from India and Dubai to Toronto by British Airways successfully .

Actually each airline has it's own policy....

Since you guys have mentioned BA as an example, it allows only 1 checked piece for flights from London and within Europe. So it's better you compare some airlines before you choose the one. (and it's not only about ticket fare).

Good luck!
