Hi, Zel

For nursing registration in Albirta, you have to pass The Canadian Registered Nurse Exam (CRNE). For LPN registration time is depend on completion of documentations and verification from your Nursing school and employer (for employment verification) Generally if all documents are received by college and your file is completed, then the registration committee will review all documents and will give the decision to go for examination and /or bridging program.
However,  Some time if they need any document again from your institute it could delay more the process,  All individuals are have the different timeline, if your college or school has send the information before for any other candidate may it will make little bit fast, because the college will have the all curriculum and program in their system.
In addition you have to book for exam and some time there is only 2-3 time exam schedule per year and available date will be after one year or more. Anyhow, some lucky people got all procedure done in few months and booked for exam as they started the process before landing.  In my opinion it is taking 6 month to 24 months to become LPN in any province in Canada including Alberta.

For international trained nurses instructions are on the link:
http://www.srna.org/registration/new-rn-registrations/87-ien-instructions-to-apply

Becoming a registered nurse in Alberta then follow the link

Hope its helps,
