Hi there, I'm hoping someone could give me any sort of advice.

My wallet was recently stolen, which contained ALL my ID, including my BC health care card, my citizenship, drivers license & debit/credit cards. The only thing I have which wasn't in my wallet is my birth certificate, but because I was born abroad (in Scotland), I have no proof that I am a Canadian citizen.

I already know that I shouldn't have kept all my important identification in my wallet, and trust me, I have learnt my lesson!

I have gotten a police report and taken it to Service Canada along with my SIN (not the card), former high school ID, expired driver's license, credit card & phone bill statements to prove I am a BC resident, but the worker told me they couldn't do anything unless I had my citizenship to prove I am a Canadian citizen.

I have looked into getting a new citizenship, and am told it takes over TEN months and they need two pieces of ID, which I don't have. I cannot go ten months without any form of ID, I need it to cash my cheques from work, do any banking, etc.

I was born in Scotland but have lived here since I was 4... I'm now 21. My parents, and both sisters are also Canadian citizens, would this help in some way... ?

Can anybody help me or give any advice? Or guide me in the right direction? I am completely lost! Thank you for ANY advice, it is much appreciated!

Apply for the citizenship certificate but ask for it to be expedited based on your circumstances.  You can get it in as little as 1-2 months.

They ask for two pieces of ID when applying for citizenship certificate, which I don't have. Thank you for the suggestion though. Unless there's a way around that if I explain the circumstance?

Is there a government official I can talk to perhaps? Such as a member of parliament? I'm so lost!

You have your expired drivers license and former high school ID.  Do you have a passport?

What did you need from Service Canada anyway?  A new SIN card?  You already have a SIN number that is not a temporary one so I am not sure why they would need to see that you are still a citizen.

Did you check if you could get a new drivers license based on your expired one?

Did you check if you can get a new health card with your expired drivers license and high school ID?  It's not like it's a new one, it is really just a copy of the old one that was stolen.

How about your Canadian and British (or Scotish) passports?  Aren't they consider IDs?
