haha not yet. I can't call because the last time I called and finally got a real person, I explained I'm hearing impaired and they got rude. So I refuse to call them again *grumble* but may have to!

my husband had a talk with the cic call centre agent and she told our file was transferred to CPP Ottawa...
so i guess all the checks and everything will be done in Ottawa and then for visa issuance it will go to LA

Were all of your application transferred after the Buffalo closure announcement? Mine was transferred from buffalo to los angeles last year a few months after it was received in buffalo....im STILL waiting, all it says is "in process" and I get no answers from los angeles when i email them

Mine was transferred a few weeks before the closure announcement (May 8th). We have contacted LA since then and were requested to send some additional docs. Did it, and now back to waiting.

It should change. BUT ecas is unpredictable and we can't really rely on it for anything concrete. If it changes, great! (peace of mind) if it doesn't, probably nothing to worry about anyway. It seems to depend on the agent.

Okay, so i had a couple of queries, if anyone could shed some of their responses, it will be very helpful. So, my application was received on oct 6 2011, and ever since, i have submitted my medical, fbi, and all other documents requested by cic. Now, i sent in my fbi, the day before the buffalo office was closed, someone signed it, but after that i dont know where my file is till this day. I have been reading the forum, and it seems all the files have been transferred to ottawa, i have emailed them but no reply what so ever. i got my acknowledgement in mid jan 2012, and after that nothing. its been more than 8 months now, and at this point its very aggravating. Anyhow, i guess waiting is the only option! anyone going through the same situation? how do i find out where my file is?

My situation is not the same as yours, but I can totally relate to how aggravating this process is! 

I cannot shed any light as to where your file is. My best guess would be that it is in Ottawa. It is very unfortunate that they didn't respond to your e-mail. A bit of respect would be appreciated... ahem... anyway, if I were you, I would call CIC-M (Mississauga) and explain to them that you received your acknowledgment in Jan, but nothing since. And since you had that last file sent just before the Buffalo closure, you are a little worried as to where your file is and at what stage it is. If you say it all politely and get the right agent, I believe you will get your answer. The folks at CIC-M certainly do know something as we have all gotten some info from them.

I actually got told that my PHYSICAL files is in LA and it's in process, I got this in e-mail format. Here's what it said:

Dear Madam,
 
In response to your email below, your file is currently in process at the visa office in Los Angeles.  This information was confirmed in the letter we mailed you dating from June 6, 2012.  Please forward any additional correspondence you may have to them.  Their email address is as follow; https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=los angeles.

ecas doesn't say medicals received either... which worries me, because we did the medicals way before we submitted the application and as always its my fear that they've been lost. Do any of you know where the DMP sent your medical records to? Where is the regional medical office for the US?

ALL medical files are sent to Ottawa - every single one, regardless of the DMP that you used.  There they are reviewed by one (or more) medical officers and a decision regarding your medical report is made by the medical officer and entered into the medical system.  When your file reaches the visa office, they use the unique serial number on that form to match up with your medical report - but this is all done via computer.

Typically, it takes approximately 4-6 weeks for the medical officers in Ottawa to review your file (I had my last medical exam done on 11 February and the medical officer's opinion letter was signed March 12, one month later.  It's extremely unusual to have a copy of the medical officer's opinion letter, but I'm fortunate enough to have a copy.)

So don't worry, there's no regional medical centre to lose it.  IF it gets lost, the most likely case is in the mail room in Ottawa.  But DMPs should keep copies - and presumably YOU kept a copy of your receipt.

I remember my husband telling me that the DMP said he was to mail his results to Buffalo, so I'm guessing that is where the doctor sent them. Hopefully if that's the case then they were forwarded to Ottawa?  We included a copy of the medical form with the application, but the only copy I kept for my own records was the receipt (foolish in hindsight).

I'm trying not to worry about it too much, obviously it's out of our hands at this point. Oooooh the things I would have done differently if I knew what I did now
