I read that someone on another thread had their ecas updated to in process and their file is in LA... CIC first received their file on Feb 17th!! Soo happy for them but where the heck is my file then??  I was just thinking of that as I looked at the spreadsheet, that's one of the reasons I don't like CIC  I hope you hear something soon! |

I was just thinking of that as I looked at the spreadsheet, that's one of the reasons I don't like CIC I hope you hear something soon! thanks.. maybe it's just the agent we got... or who knows. How much time does it usually take after transfer to get an "in process" statement on ECAS? They've had our file for 2 weeks now, how much longer am I looking at to wait until I hear something?

How much time does it usually take after transfer to get an "in process" statement on ECAS? They've had our file for 2 weeks now, how much longer am I looking at to wait until I hear something?
It takes about 10 business days for them to receive your file after it was transferred. So for example, my file was transferred on May 8th, but they didn't really get it until the 22nd or something (they replied to an email of ours on the 15th and said it was still in transit). Anyway, we have yet to hear anything. |

My husband's application number is a FXXXXXX what's the difference? I called CIC today and they told me that my file was indeed still in LA and won't be transferred to Ottawa. She said it could be taking so long because a bunch of files were transferred at once. I guess that's something... but it has been hanging out in the US since March 20th or so... |

I was just wondering about the letter for file numbers. I noticed from reading through posts on here that some people that needed to be interviewed or went through the appeal process had a B####, then after they got approved from their appeals or whatnot, their files changed to an F####. I guess the F just means family sponsor class, but it's interesting to see if there is any correlation with getting a B number then CIC requesting an interview. I can't find much on it.

I am abroad and use this, which I think is the equivalent as the 800 number you mentioned: +1 613 944 4000 (for an agent: options 1,2,1,2,1 ... then 0 to skip the message) Basically, I just led on that the agent I spoke to her a few weeks ago had already told me the info I was calling to confirm again with her. She couldn't tell me anything more. She did e-mail me LA's contact info for further information. |
