Hi, im dominican and my husband is canadian, we applied for sponsorship and permanent resident process in feb, 2010, he`s part as sponsor was approved in march, 2010, and my permanent residence application process started on april 19, 2010, at the moment when we check e-cas we have 2 options with my name, first says IN PROCESS "We started processing your application on April 19, 2010." and the 2nd one says APPLICATION RECEIVED "We received your application for permanent residence on April 19, 2010" the 2nd one used to say "medical application received" but now it has changed to just application recieved.

1st question is: what does this mean??

2nd question: when we started our process back in feb, 2010. The processing time was 18 months for my country, then it changed to 14 months and now its 12 months, i was wondering which one will apply for us?

I really appreciate any answers i could get Smiley

Don't worry abt ECAS...I hv read from many threads that the medical line keeps showing up and then disappears for some reason...not something to worry abt...!!!
Processing time depends on each case...there are no hard and fast rule that it'll be completed in the processing time mentioned in CIC website( these are only avg timelines on the cases processed in the past) they do not see when u applied and put it in that time slot...
Looks like ur visa office is processing faster these days as the avg time has reduced.

THANK YOU BRIN FOR YOUR ANSWER, IM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT PROCESSING TIME CUZ I AM PREGNANT AND WE WERE HOPING TO BE IN CANADA BEFORE MY DUE DATE (OCT 1ST) IT WILL BE VERY HARD ON US IF IM NOT THERE BEFORE THE BABY COMES, BUT I GUESS WE WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE SITUATION. DO YOU KNOW  THE PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW (REGARDING IMMIGRATION) IF I GIVE BIRTH IN MY COUNTRY? WILL WE HAVE TO RE-DO THE WHOLE CASE OR JUST REQUEST FOR BABY'S CANADIAN PASSPORT ONCE HE/SHE IS BORN??
