hi aspire
Will your wife be able to take the CRNE on a tourist visa? I thought you have to be a PR or citizen in order to take it.
For as long as the regulating body like CRNM gives you the eligibility to take the CRNE, CRNM will provide a referral letter that can be used for tourist visa application. We got this word from CRNM. Each of the province has its own rules/regulations. I don't know with the other provinces, but in Manitoba they allow non PR/citizens to take the exam for as long your educational credentials after assessment is found to be equivalent to that of Canadian standards. And you have to travel to Winnipeg to sit for the exam. CRNE is not given outside of Canada.

hi aspire Once your wife is able to pass the exam, will she be able to get a license to practice nursing or is it similar to the US where they will just tell you that you passed but won't give you the physical license unless you give them a social security number?

Hai Aspire,
Many thanks for Starting a Thread like this for London Applicants. I just ordered CAIPS . I too need to know my BFD date... Can u give some more light on it ..Please
JM
Comparing CAIPS will give us an idea of how things are being worked out in London CHC. And as with my monitoring from the CAIPS of other forum members, I got mixed infos of how BFD really means. With the old process, BFD is the date set that the IO will next sit for your file. With the new scheme (and I am talking about London VO) it seems that the first BFD that is set is the estimated date to finalize your PR application, while your file is being put into a queu for officers review. At this stage, depending on the bulk of application handled by the IO, no definite date can be known when the IO will next open your file. Once it comes up in the queu then a review will be made. Once the IO reviews it, it is either the IO will issue your medical or ask for additional documents or issue a rejection. If it is the first two, another BFD will be set, this time this may mean a definite date like the deadline of the medical request or the deadline of submission for the requested additional docs. Once this BFD comes and the medicals or requested docs are not received then a rejection letter will be sent. Or if complied process will move on to the next step which is security check, then PPR. How did I know this? My CAIPS told me that. My first BFD is set on March 25, 2011. Four months ago, I sent an enquiry to CHC through case specific enquiry regarding the status of my application. They replied that my file is awaiting for an IO's review. But on May 5, 2010 they sent me a letter asking for the photocopy of spouse's bachelors degree certificate+transcript of records. So frustrating since these documents were already submitted to them many months ago. This means that my file came up on the queu, the officer had reviewed it and sent me a letter for document request. Probably that time the IO had set another BFD...that I would know once I will receive my second CAIPS that I ordred on June 2, 2010. I would really encourage everyone whose applications are somehow delayed and is processed by London VO to order CAIPS and to report it here in this thread for us to make some trend of how our applications are being handled by London CHC.

We had asked our friend in Canada who is a Registered nurse and from her we learned that after passing the CRNE you still have to apply for RN registration. Two of the requirements are the passing mark for the CRNE and you got to be in Canada either on a PR or working visa.

Hi aspire, My time line is application submitted CIO Sydney Jan 2009. Full document May 2009. In process June 2009. To case specific equiry in March 2010, replied file to be reviewd by an officer. To enquiry in April replied applicant sceduled for interview. In May equiry no date can be given as interviews in middle East are scheduled not very often. Can expedite if one can come for interview in London. Caips notes in April.Marks 74 paper selection 1. all others 0. No reason for interview except in notes sceduled for interview. Frustrating. What do you say?

In your case, in my opinion it's too early to order CAIPS, you wont be seeing much infos from your CAIPS this at this early stage.

Hi G2009, If your situation happens to me, I would write a letter to CHC and tell them that you ordered CAIPS and that in the CAIPS it was not noted the reason for the interview. It must be a mistake. How could the IO remember the reason why he/she has scheduled you for an interview if he/she did not write it in the CAIPS? As you have narrated, your case is straight forward and there is no probable reason for interview. This may awaken them if in case the encoding in your CAIPS for interview was just a mistake. It seems to me that London is trying to justify the delay in some applications under the new rules by asking people for interview(like your case), asking documents which were already submitted many months ago(like in my case). They are mandated by the head office to process applications under the new rules within 12 months from submission of full documents. Your and my case will definitely be out from the mandated time frame and they got a lot of explaining to do to the minister as to why such delay happens. Additional documents request, and interviews are the best way to escape and justify their being vey ineficient. If I were you, I would also ask London CHC to just transfer the place of interview to London. Tell them that you are willing to travel to London for the interview and ask them as well the reason why you are called for interview and tell them you need to know it so you can make the necessary preparations before travelling. It is better to spend money than to wait for an UAE interview without even a date of when it can happen. ...Just my suggestions..the decision is yours...
