Thanks a lot 9j. Will look forward to your reply.

Regards

Congratulations ashaf79. I don't have our CoPR at hand at the moment. When I get home I will have a look and see if there is any correlation with yours. Hopefully, someone might have come up with a reply before then.

Thanks louth. I think my and my wife's marital status should be same code which isn't in the form so this does look like an error. I will wait for others' reply to confirm this and then inform them. I hope this is a minor mistake and can be fixed at landing time.

Regards

Let me start by saying a big congratulations to you and your family for a dream come true(:
Under the personal details section of my copr, my marital status is not coded  (with any number)but clearly marked as MARRIED. I will suggest that you leave the interpretation and decoding to the Imo at po and just enjoy your achievement. However if you are convince and have evidence to justified your claim then you will need to get this sorted ASAP.

Hi,

Just had a look at our CoPRs and both my wife and I have our marital status written as "Married" - No code. Though I don't think this is a serious issue, but to be certain, I think you should send a CSE to LVO notifying them of your observation and ask them for clarification. They will be able to allay your worries or advice on necessary actions to take, if any.

All the best.

Just wondering why  LVO have two different types of CoPR forms?
Ashaf79 can you check the document control number on the bottom left hand corner of copr form?
Mine is IMM 5688(04-2012),,,!!!!
Secondly , how did you know the meaning of these codes?

Alhamdulillah I got my visa and confirmation of permanent residence forms (COPR) today.

I notice a possible error in COPR. My marital status code is 1 while my wife's is 2. I think 1 stands for SINGLE and 2 for MARRIED. Can someone please check this in your form and advise? (esp. if the code for yourself and spouse is different or same.. may be it has some other meaning than what I think)

I see the same in family code i.e. 1 for me and 2 for wife but I think that is correct (1=principal applicant, 2=dependant). Can you confirm this as well please?

Lastly, in accompanying family members field, on my form my wife's given name is mentioned only while in her form my full name is mentioned. Is that how it is generally or this is also a mistake? Concerned because this relates to names which is important data.

Regards

First, Mubarak hoo Bhai.

I check , in my and my wife COPR Maratial status 2,  child COPR Maratial status 1.

Secondly I too got just given name of my wife and child plus there DOB as AFM
But they got my full name like you got. With my DOB

Sounds good!  It now make sense to me that are different types copr forms out there.Would Cic not get there..........,,,,together and be consistent for once.
I guess asha79 still have a score to settle with LVO .

Ok. Your choice really, but is there any reason why you may be reluctant to get a machine readable passport? As I said, most countries have phased it out and it could potentially cause you delay if you have to travel through some countries. Your choice really, if you are ok with what you have.

9j, being an indian national i have trouble getting a machine readabl passport now. The passports issued from the Indian embassy here in Muscat are the manual handwritten ones. If I were to get the machine readable one, I will have to go back to India once to apply and then again to collect. I have just returned from my annual holidays and obvisously my work will not permit me disappear often for personal reasons. This is what is stopping me from going for the machine readable one now.

Dear All,

Need a correction of the Canada Immigration process in my perception:

As far as my understanding is, If you get MR then it means that Interview has been Waived and their will only be an interview if VO have some security concerns about the applicant.

AM I Right. IF Not please correct me.

There are two different versions of COPR and what version you get depends upon whether your case was processed in CAIPS or GCMS. Both the old and new versions serve the same purpose, so please stop getting confused. Have a look at the following link to know of the details related to old and new version.

9j,  do you think if I were to switch to new machine readable pp now, the CIC might ask for updated PPCs as the ones submitted already have my current PP No. what do you think?

Hi Canada100, Just so u know my experience. I did my medicals last October and passport request was 10th of April. I renewed
my passport to machine readable one last Feb. From my time schedule, it does not seem the machine readable passport had any
speeding effect. Thanks

Hi Sherin,  do you think if I were to switch to new machine readable pp now, the CIC might ask for updated PPCs as the ones submitted already have my current PP No. would you tell me your experience? Did your PCCs have your old PP Number? Did you inform them as soon as you got your new passport and still they didn't ask for updated PCCs? Your reply would be of great help, tx Smiley
