Surprising that why CIC does not post MEDICAL RECEIVED and directly post DECISION MADE after they stamp the visas on passports of many applicants. People just stay restless to see breath taking status like MEDICAL RECEIVED in their Ecas.

Dear 9j Canada & others who received PPR /visa from London,

Did CIC check with your bank to verify the proof of funds during the processing stage? My understanding is they do it after receiving the medicals along with the security checks. Or they don't do it until you land in Canada when they ask for the DD for the settlement funds at the airport? Please if some one could clarify this to me, many thanks.

In our case, they asked for updated bank statement along with the MR. I think they do this sometimes if your previous proof of funds is more than 1 year old, but not in all cases.

Visa is issued in two steps for Pakistani applicants who are residing in Pakistan.

in PPR step-1 : Photocopy of passports and updated family information chart is demanded by the London Visa office.
PPR step-2 : london office after reviewing documents received in PPR step-1, instructs applicant to send original passports to Islamabad CHC for visa.

I hope it clears your doubt.

Thanks luckymystery!

Most of the people I have heard about, living in Pakistan, got only one PPR. So this two step thing is something new for me.

Well, I hope everyone gets the visa soon, in one step or two steps.

Thanks & regards

they are very slow in issuing PPR's as they always keep a balance between total jobs and the total people being injected into their job market.

Hi Unni,

I believe the new rules will be applied only on applications received post June 2012.

So dont worry for now.
