Thanks guys!

Here is the tip - after getting PPR try the following:
(1) Résumé - Check out free Canadian style templates and find out how they do it including professional wordings and stuff! Don't forget to do "Cover letter" and "Thank you letter" as well. Check out samples online.
(2) Canadian address on résumé - use a friend's address or get a mailing address from UPS (find out: http://www.theupsstore.ca/mailbox-rental-services.html). These are real legal addresses offered by UPS. They offer it to immigrants like us to get our PR Cards posted incase you dnt have a permanent address quick enough and they can forward your PR card back to your home country in case you have to leave Canada before the card arrive.
(3) Online number and forward the calls to your present number (check: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/features/allfeatures/online-number/?intcmp=search-direct-online-number).

After all these then start posting your résumé on job boards. If you receive a call just answer their questions as normal, tell them you're coming in few weeks time if asked to come in for interview. Some employers can wait while others might not but hopefully you can get round the timing.
Hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi,
Can you please tell in detail about uspstore . Esp how does they work and what is pricing / tarriff

Use this link to locate a desired store- http://www.theupsstore.ca/find-the-ups-store.html

For example type Edmonton in the box for city, it will bring list of all store then click on a store to see their contact email. Drop an email to the store to give you details of Mailbox Rental. They will surely give you a full detail of how it works!
They will email you application forms and the terms and conditions. They will require proofs of I.D like driving licence or Passport and credit card information. They will also take payment from the card. Prices differs from location to location and also depending on the duration that you want it for. It starts from 3 months, 6 months, 9 months rentals etc. I got 3 months in Edmonton for $90 while a store in Calgary was offering $60 for 3 months and also if I buy 1 yr then I can get extra 3 months free, making 18months for price of 12 months. They can also forward all your mails to a foreign address or another address in Canada. Someone is always there to collect your mails and sign for it and you have a key to your locker. You can phone the store to ask if you have mails or not. Large parcels are also collected on your behalf. You can add up to two other names on the list to use your address.
Just email a desired store of your choice to get the full details.

Cheers

Dear All,

I find this forum very helpful and I would like to request all my seniors here to advice me regarding my query.

I am MI-2 applicant from PK. I have done my medical in Nov 2011 and its about 6-7 months already passed but didn't got PPR till yet. can u please suggest me, how long it will take further to complete all background check and to get PPR.

Second thing, I am principle applicant living in PK but my spouse lives in UK. To my knowledge all pakistani applicant recieve PPR 1 first (Passport copies + photos etc) then PPR 2(original passports) as pakistani applicant are not allowed to send passport outside pakistan , whether the same thing applies to my spouse as he lives in UK or not Huh  I know Visa Office sends PPR via email but If anyone can advice me ,how visa office will send PPR to me and my spouse and how VO will ask to submit passport from us as we both lives at different countries rite now.

I appreciate all of you for helping me regarding this and thanks to all. Waiting for your responses...

Sorry I forgot to say that. You can get +1 from US. That's what I did and it's working for me

Are us and canada number same ,
Btw i notice that you can get Canada local number free in UK O2 mobile - friend snd family where you get 5 number anywhere in world to call 3000 min free and they give you 1 incoming landline number for free too ( everything just £10 a month) and all call will be auto fwd to your mobile , but that to use from within UK only .

I am trying to get any free SIP/VOIP number for Canada but cant figure any one who provide this for free or for 4-5 $ one time fee . So that number can be of use in Ca too .

I emailed Ups and waiting for there reply , but again dont know which is best branch to get box , i mean still dont know which will be best area.  NW , NE , SW etc in calgary .

Can anyone tell in breif what type of areas thise are .

Last - did anyone use Uship to find cheapest deal for shipment /cargo.

I registered and ask quote for 10 Box (55 Cu feet/ 250 kg ) goods from UK to Calgary door to door shipment .
Receiving intresting quotes , better then movers co which i found in google .
