Mission Accomplished Gypses!! Cheesy Big Congratulations.

That is true, since November 2011, CIC no longer affix visas in the passports for countries that do not require visa to enter Canada. Your COPR and your passport will suffice to finalise your landing and apply for PR card. I wish you all the best as you start your new life in Canada.

9j

Many thanks for your wishes.
Now the hard part is planning the landing - far too much to consider when my children are going through their GCSE exams !!  I have only till Feb 2013 to complete the landing process Undecided

Have you submitted your passports yet?

We are in the same situation here, though our kids are a bit younger. So many issues to deal with both from here and in Canada. I agree the whole journey can appear daunting. What we plan to do is to go and complete the landing late summer (Aug/Sept); stay for about 2 weeks to do some 'on the ground assessment' e.g schooling, neighbourhood, job prospect and most importantly myself and my wife will be completing the final phase of our professional competency exams during the time (sounds like a lot to do within 2 weeks Wink). We plan to come back and start the process of winding up from here after that. We have set an initial target of summer 2013 for our final relocation.

Our son's new passport just arrived this morning. I am at work all day, so will be sending it to London tomorrow.

Whoever said that must be misinterpreting the information from CIC. To the best of my knowledge, CIC will continue to process all applicants that have been received between Feb 2008 till date. I don't think there is anything for you to worry about.

Hi to all forum members

Just to inform you that after a long struggle and facing many obstacles, I have only this morning received our Passports back from CIC London.  The only drawback is that the Passports do not contain stamped Visa but have the form IM 5292 attached to each passport instead.
My search on the net has resulted that this is the COPR form and passports that do not require entry visa to Canada will not be stamped with a Visa.

Anyways I am on Cloud 9 and wish to thank all of you who have guided me through this journey.  My prayers and wishes are with you all in achieving your dream.

Many thanks once again Grin

That's coooool news. many many many congrats and good luck for your life in Canada.

Dear 9j Canada & others who received PPR /visa from London,

Did CIC check with your bank to verify the proof of funds during the processing stage? My understanding is they do it after receiving the medicals along with the security checks. Or they don't do it until you land in Canada when they ask for the DD for the settlement funds at the airport? Please if some one could clarify this to me, many thanks.

Dear 9j & Others,

Our medicals were received by CIC on 06.03.2012 and the RPRF was encashed on 15.03.2012.

Still waiting to see the medicals received line on the ECAS.

Can you guys let me know based on the current timelines, how long do we need to wait for the PPR request.

The in between phase is the toughest, you are almost there and not yet there  Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed.

Good to know that you are posting off your passports today. The whole immigration stuff can be at the best of the time dauting and very challenging  especially when kids are involved. We all have to take into account that our kids are extremely important in this process and the best we can do is to carry them along in the process by talking to them and making them to see the benefits of the process to their future. It is easy to move under 10yrs old but once kids get into teen, its a different ball game! We also have think of our pension plans ! Smiley
By the way it is exactly two week today since we sent our passports to LVO. Kiss Kiss

brother, i did my meds in mid jan and VO received the results in the end of Jan. RPRF encashed mid Feb, still no med received on ecase Huh still says in process. People like 9j have gone straight to decision made from in process. Most likely, they will have their visas in hand soon and the ecase will still say in process Cool

Hi guys,

I'm a bit confused. What is PPR1 and PPR2? Stage 1 and Stage2?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Regards

Visa is issued in two steps for Pakistani applicants who are residing in Pakistan.

in PPR step-1 : Photocopy of passports and updated family information chart is demanded by the London Visa office.
PPR step-2 : london office after reviewing documents received in PPR step-1, instructs applicant to send original passports to Islamabad CHC for visa.

I hope it clears your doubt.
