Hi All,

I'm new to the board, but not to the immigration process....we have been trying to get to Canada for a few years now...been very patient and just getting on with life in Scotland. We have finally received communication from our lawyer in Canada that London have asked us to take medicals. So as it may now be a reality I thought I'd better get involved and start my research!

Can anyone give me any indication of:

a) is this the last step before a decision is made, and therefore looking like no interview is required?
B) i read someone saying you are asked to send your passport to London also (a bit concerned as we are off on holiday in about 8 weeks)
c) how long after we send back the medicals will a decision been reached? (specifically by London)

If anyone has been through the process recently, I would really appreciate hearing from you,

Kind Regards

Hi there,

We have recently been through this and here is my experience (but note, I am not an expert):

a) is this the last step before a decision is made, and therefore looking like no interview is required?  We had the medical and no interview at all - I personally think the medical is the last step.

B) i read someone saying you are asked to send your passport to London also (a bit concerned as we are off on holiday in about 8 weeks) Yes, you have to do this so they can put the PR in it.  It took about 6 weeks (possibly shorter) for us.

c) how long after we send back the medicals will a decision been reached? (specifically by London)

Medical was taken in mid-March and visa received in mid-May.  So not long...

HOpe that helps a bit.

If this was family class - most submit medicals with application.
