Hi guys,
I sent C.I.C. London an email to enquire about when I would receive a request for medicals.
The reply from London was that  "your file is awaiting review by an immigration officer".

My online status is IN PROCESS

We received your application for permanent residence on February 23, 2009.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on March 4, 2009. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the London England office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the London England office on March 10, 2009. The London England office may contact you.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on June 26, 2009.

According to my online status the file was reviewed. Yet C.IC. Londons email to me says it is awaiting review.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this.

Hello again Pammi and Okshan, thanks for your concern.
I have sent them another Email showing my application status. The last line of it reads "Your application was reviewed and we started processing on June 26, 2009".

It may be the case that the reply they sent at first is a general reply to to my question.
Hopefully they will elaborate a little further this time

Guys,
i've two queries, kindly confirm if they are correct:

1- The more you put enquiries to CHC office the more they'll delay your case, because you are pushing them to do extra work. My consultant requested me not to contact them for status enquiries, unless it is really important to do so for change in contact etc or other major matters.

2- I applied in June 2008 and submitted my full documents in March 2009, since then i'm waiting for Medicals. But what i fail to understand is how you guys who applied in Feb 2009, wish to receive your medicals earlier than us who are waiting in Queue. Is CHC processing the documents on their will basis or is there a systematic way of doing things? Principally they should accept and reject the 2008 applicants before taking decision on 2009, isn't it true?

Awaiting your response.

Hi guys here is the reply to my email to C.I.C. London.

Dear Mr Byrne,

Your file is being processed by the London office.  At this stage of processing, your file is awaiting review by an immigration officer.  Unfortunately, due to high volumes we are unable to give you an estimated time frame.

Sincerely,

Canadian High Commission

Well at least they gave me a straight answer.

Biblo, the fact of the matter is that some people who applied in June 2009 under the NEW system got their medicals before applicants of Feb 2009 which made me think there may have been a problem with my file, hence my Email to C.I.C.
I have no problem with anyone getting their medicals before me, regardless of when they applied. Nor would I feel guilty if I got my medicals before others.

Is CHC processing the documents on their will basis or is there a systematic way of doing things?     I dont know

Principally they should accept and reject the 2008 applicants before taking decision on 2009, isn't it true?
The NEW system started in 2009 for Skilled Workers, which I applied under. I dont mind if somebody who applied in 2008 gets to Canada before me. In fact I would be one of the first in the queue to congratulate them.
The very best of luck Biblo and I hope your application comes through soon for you.

I totally understand how you feel. I feel exactly the same way. I applied in February 2009 and still waiting for my status to change into "in process". I am hoping to get my medical instructions letter soon. I hope to hear from the visa office by October 30,2009

It differs for each case. It depends on the IO and the clarity, completeness of the documents submitted. Better not to make conclusions based on other applicants developmentS. I doesnt mean that someone who applied late than you are got his medical request ahead of you, then there is a problem with your application. But I do agree, frequent asking enquiries to the CIC will further delay the process. In the AOR letter ,visa office is telling applicants when to contact them if in case applicant does not receive any correspondence from CIC within a certain period of time. In London they said we must contact them if in 8 months time we dont receive anything from them after receiving the AOR. So if it is still within the time frame in my opinion there is no need to send e mail to CIC and ask for the medical, even if you know someone who applied 2 months late than yours  had received his medical request.

I totally agree with aspire and that's why I did not send them any email although they are many applicant who sent their application after 2 months from mine and they received their medical.

As aspire said the only weapon you have is "Patience"

Good Luck.
