Dec 9th (or 2nd) - Application sent Date - Application received (no idea, the lawyer would not update me or the company on that) File # - Don't know, lawyer would not update on that Apr 16th - Still no news at all Lucas, you are also applying while overseas, did you ask prospective company to call SC or did you call SC yourself? the lawyer told me that they were not allowed to contact HRSDC to request updates whatsoever, hence there is nothing we can do but wait around......  |

Application sent: 12th march
current status as of March 29: application received but has not assigned to officer as they are working on applications received in dec 2011.
I am not sure if "application received" indicates that file number is allocated to my application or not. Could any one of you please give me more idea about it?

Hi cabelen I found this on the HRSDC website! "Recommend to foreign nationals to submit their work permit applications (both new and renewals) only when the employer has confirmation from Service Canada that a positive LMO has been issued. However, renewal applications must be submitted to CIC prior to the work permit expiry date." http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/index.shtmlHope this helps! |

Hi everybody,
I know this might have been discussed several times, but I couldn't find any thread on this. So here is my case.
I am in IT industry and I have been working for employer A in ON on workpermit for the last two years. It is going to be expired by 25th July 2012. Currently extension process is on. My LMO will be applied in next few days. I am also planing to apply for PR under CEC category as I will be completing two years here in Canada.
Now, Employer B is offering me a job. Based on what I read so far in this forum, Employer B also has to go through LMO/new WP process. is that correct? If LMO/WP with Employer B is complete and do I have to re-enter Canada with new WP? or can I just switch the companies and activate the new WP?
And how long does it take to get a new LMO/WP in ON.? 14/15 weeks? Are there any other options which employer B can try to speed up the process?
