Hi,

I have seen a lot of queries on the current processing times for LMO. Request everybody to share your personal experience. Do mention when did your employer file it and how much time did it take.

Thanks

My employer sent the application last week, over the telephone they told to him that it would take 2-3 weeks. I'll keep you posted.

Wow, that's quick. What line of work are you in?

My application is supposed to be submitted this week. The immigration lawyers my company are using have had all of my documents for over a week but have been "working on" the application. Hopefully that extra work means everything will run smoothly!

I work in Engineering by the way. I worked in Toronto in 2007/08 and my LMO took 8 weeks back then. I was relocating from Brazil that time though, which meant we had extra medicals which we don't have to do this time (relocating from Australia).

Maybe the fact that I have had a positive LMO and work visa in the past will help my case. Different role and different company this time though, so maybe not..

The immigration lawyers estimate 4-8 weeks for processing time.

hi all!

I have 3 questions:

1. Does the processing times be affected by the field of the the applicant? for example an engineer or a nurse etc... or the urgency to fill in the position, if the employer states that on the application?
2. How to apply for a TWP if the applicant is already in Canada on a Multiple Entry visa (tourist visa)?
3. How long is the processing time for a TWP?

Thanks in advance! Cheesy

I got my LMO approved in 5 weeks - lodged on May 24 2011.  I'm in marketing.  The application was submitted by a lawyer though...

Hi Hampton305,

1. I don't think the field of the applicant impacts the processing time, but I'm not sure.
2, 3 You need to send your passport and your visa application to Buffalo, take a look in the Buffalo Consulate website, they posted all the procedure you need to follow, it usually takes from 2-3 weeks to get the passport back with the TRV stamped.

Cheers,
