Good luck to all who got their LMO and who is still waiting.

I have a question, if given a Visa to Canada for 2 years can u go back to your home country for 1 week or 2 if business starts to go slow or something. Just Curious or do i have to stay the full 2 years i have on my contract before going back to my home country.

Thanks

My employer is filling out the LMO application and I am hoping they send if off next week. What are the current waiting times like? Can you apply for your temporary work permit whilst you are waiting for the LMO? My job is supposed to start in September, so 8-10 weeks for processing the work permit in London, UK (as it says on the website) and then whatever this LMO time takes... I don't think it will come back in time...

I think for most work permit applications the employer needs to fill out an LMO in order for you to be able to apply for a work permit. There are some occupations that do not need an LMO, all the details are on the CIC website, I just can't remember what occupations it is that don't need an LMO.

4 weeks - that seems pretty good! I think my LMO is being sent off on Monday 18th June - and I hope the result comes back positive beore 11th July because I am flying back to Canada that day so fingers crossed I can do a POE TWP!! Otherwise a quick trip to the border and back might be in order!

My husband has 2 LMOs waiting one is for his current employer which was applied for on the 2 April and still has not been given a file number and an LMO application  for a possible new employer was faxed 30 May and was given a file number on the 20 June. Our application to extend our work visa was refused because the LMO for my husbands current employer did not come through in time and we are still waiting for it. We are well into our 90 day period and  are desperate for some news.

Hi I'm new here. I am also worried, and this waiting is very stressful. I sent the application on May 7.
What kind of NOC you are applying? My NOC is the number 7272.

Hello. Can I ask how long will an LMO be processed in Alberta. My employer filed it on June 4 and I don't know how long will it take to be released. Thank you for some response.
