It depends, regular processing time is 6-8 weeks- I`m waiting for mine for 10 weeks now but I`m getting it with the same employer for extention- usually that takes a bit longer. First I got it in 4 weeks.

I am in Sherwood Park, me and my hub just moved here 2 mos ago. I am a Nurse, willing to do any kind of job. Healthcare field will be perfect, work on fastfoods and restaurants will also be accepted. Will do everything to find a job.
Thanks

What type of visa do you have? Search job sites (job bank, kijiji.ca, craigslist.ca), but do not deal with people who ask for money.

I use to have a 2 year work visa, but currently I am on visitor visa since I submitted our inland spousal application which prohibits me to go out Canada (our application will be null and void if I do go out).

Now I am looking for an employer that gives LMO. Almost all (I'd say all since I never found one yet) the hospitals here does not give LMO.

Your best bet would be restaurant and fast-food chains if you are willing to do this type of a job. Try Jobbank for searching. Good luck! Oh and yes, never deal with agents, companies, anyone who ask for money to get you an LMO, I guess you had one before and know that it is free.

Good day

Last december of 2009, my co-wroker's cousin told us to send some application and supporting documents as an employer in Alberta is looking for carers for a Community Retirement Home. We paid 1000 CAD for that....

and then around just last year she said there is a way to expedite but it needs another payment of 1000 CAD and so we did! She is our coworker's 1st cousin and so we trusted her on that...

Until now, May 2011 she said the LMO is still on process...is this even normal?Huh? What is happening??
She just messaged me a while ago that there is an LMO ready for release within a month but the person to be granted the LMO cant come..so the isntitution will grant the LMO to another (change name as mentioned) but a 250 CAD is needed for payment?

can somebody please help us and enlighten us on this??? We have paid the 2000 CAD already and its now more than a year and no response about the LMO...

PLEASE HELP.... Sad

LMO application takes from 2 to 6 weeks to process. Did you receive a job offer? Did you sign a contract?
