Hi, I have applied for 1year LMO under job code:2174[Computer Programmer] for Ontario region[Toronto] on 1st July 2011.
Documents been submitted by my company  @ New Delhi office.

I am still waiting for my approval. but my 2 colleagues who had sent their documents along with me,
got approval on 6th July, they now sent their passport for stamping. What could be the reason for delaying,
also how long I should wait. Is there any possibility of cancellation too??

Please guide me, my travel date is on 1st August.

Thanks Sam, but its true My 2 colleagues got approval in 6 days, then they sent their original passport for stamping also. They are waiting for it. But in my case I am still waiting for my application approval, I have checked with my employer, they have no idea about
this.
Also in my company, I am the only person who is waiting for this long to get approval, all of them are getting approval in maximum 15 days. Sad Hey they will not reject it because of delay right??

What is your country of origin and what industry / position are you in?
Did your company use immigration lawyers in Canada to help with the LMO application, or did they do it themselves?

These details might help others see if they are in a similar situation, and therefore whether they can expect a similar processing timeline to you..

Congratulations by the way!

I am from India, and I work in IT industry, as a Software Developer. My company, do visa processing through 3rd party.
Only suprising factor is that, most of our colleague getting visa stamped within a month period, on an average. Thanks.

Dear Senior,

I am a telecom consultant working in dubai, UAE.
I have applied for Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) after getting sponsorship from a canadian recruiting company. M NOC is 9990.7.

i have submitted my complete package on 13th june along with Demand Draft of 450$, However i have not received any feedback even after 8 weeks (where as on wen they say a time frame of 7 weeks).

Now i urgently need my passport back (since i have sent my original PP along with other documents( as per instruction from my Representative). My representative is saying that only way to request the passport is by sending them an email.

I have requsted the canadian immigration in Abu Dhabi using email to send me back my passport since i have a business committment, however even after 10 days i have not received any feedback.

Can someone please help me as how to receive my passport urgently.

If you are applying specifically for a NOC 2174 (Programmer) position , then you do need a bachelor's degree.

There may be similar positions not requiring a degree, but they will have different NOC Codes and/or categories.

Thanks for any help!

I'm only going by HRSDC's website.
For NOC 2175 they state the requirements are:

A bachelor's degree, usually in computer science, communications or business
    or
Completion of a college program in computer science, graphic arts, Web design or business is required.

Experience as a computer programmer or graphic designer is usually required.
