Hi,

I have received a job offer from a firm in Montreal. Legal firm has sent  LMO application yesterday to Quebec. It will be under Temporary IT worker Visa in one of the 7 Special category. Software Products Developer (NOC 9990.6).

Currently I'm in NY working on H1B and wondering how long it will take to complete the whole process?

Does anyone has any idea? The hiring firm is one of three big investment bank.

Thanks
RG

LMO are processed by HRSDC so I advise you check w/ them. You can also call Service canada to know moe, but I don't think there is a timeline process for this.

Actually its CAQ not LMO that is required for Quebec.

This is the timeline

CAQ applied                                      APR 5
Full CAQ Approval                              May 26
One Day Work Visa Stamp in Buffalo      May 31

Cheers

hi rgirish,

Wow, so neat and clean your case was! But, if LMO is not required then why did your employer submit LMO application?

in quebec they send two  LMO application one in HRSDC and one in quebec. They will both decide if they will approve the LMO/CAQ. They can check the procedures in MICC website.

thanks. but until september30 2011, there are 7 categories of software professionals for whom LMO is not required in Quebec. Only CAQ will suffice.

Rgirish applied under one of those 7 categories. That's why I was wondering why LMO was needed in this case.
