I placed my resume on a job search board and was contacted by the president of a recruitment agency that usually recruit for executive level and high level management roles. I have been interviewed by the agency and put forward for interview with their client.

A large multinational company has contacted them to search for an executive assistant position (which would fall under NOC 1222: Category B).

The person who is currently in this role has over a period of time shown that they are not performing as expected (a number of major mistakes, repeated lack of attention to detail leading to mistakes which has been brought up as performance issues etc) and the company has decided to no longer employ them. They want to have someone lined up to replace as soon as they give notice to this person.

The company are looking for a replacement but as the current employee is unaware of their decision they wish to keep the search confidential. They have contacted the agency who they have dealt with previously with regards to recruiting high level management roles and asked them to search for an EA.The agency usually don't deal with EA type roles but have agreed to try and find someone for the company. The company in question don't want to go through their usual means of dealing with admin type recruitment agencies as word may get out re the position and back to the current employee. The company wants to ensure that they have a suitable candidate lined up to replace this person and want to keep the employee in place until they do so.

Both the agency and the company are aware of my current situation meaning I'm currently on a Working Holiday Visa which expires in late November 2010. The company have been made aware that i would require them to submit an LMO in order to secure a new work permit. As it's a B Level position, the advertising requirements usually consist of 14 days advertising via job sites, newspapers and the national job board. However due to the confidential nature of the search they have used the agency to source candidates and have not advertised it. They have been using the likes of workopolis and monster to source resumes/candidates.

My question is: what are the odds of a positive LMO result if the company submit an LMO, explain the situation re issues with performance and the need for confidentiality along with evidence of hiring the agency, information re candidates sourced and interviewed and why they weren't suitable?

Without an ad on the job bank, close to nil.
