@ Kitt1517, I had the same trouble when I applied. I went to RCMP and they didn't want to give me the certificate without CIC request letter. so I called CIC and said I don't need to include it until I get a letter from them asking the RCMP certificate. In conclusion, I dind't include it.
( I sent the police certificate from the city where I lived outside Canada).  I recommend, you call CIC to make 100% sure.

hi, kitt1517, I did the digital fingerprinting and sent the original RCMP fingerprint record with my PR & OWP application.
It only takes 72 hours to get a result from RCMP...

Thank you bbggliz  I read in the instruction guide imm5290 that's show we don't need it and I just call CIC they told me the same I don't have to include.

"You, and your family members who are 18 years of age and older and are not permanent residents or Canadian citizens must provide a valid police certificate, clearance or record of no information for each country other than Canada in which you and your family members have lived for more than six months consecutively during the past 10 years. If you or your family members were under 18 years of age when you lived there, you do not need to provide a police certificate."

Thanks joycelam  I just phone CIC they told I don't need to get it so I think I won't include it with my application. It's great that you got it. Cheesy

@ kitt- i got a police certificate here in Canada, but the fingerprints are needed if you do not have a NBI from your country, you can just renew it without needing the fingerprints

hi gurls want to ask about my police clearance issued in my previous name as single. I'm so worried because Norway issued me a Police Clearance not in my Married Name even I've submitted my Marriage Certificate (maybe because I'm still single when I stayed/worked there) Do you think this is ok? I already wrote them but for sure it will take a couple of months again before I get response from them. I'm stuck with this one if I have to wait another 2 months before I will submit my OWP/PR application. I can't really wait to submit my application. Thanks guys. I'm trying to reach CIC about this but it took me the whole day phoning them without response.

honeysweetie : In my opinion, I thing you might write letter to explain the reason why the names are difference and attach the supporting documents but for sure try to call CIC again.

have you guys noticed that --- in 2010, it said the processing time was 9-10 months but when they at last got the pr, it took  mostly more than one year, some were faster even though. and this year , no one knows how long we have to wait ,as it's stuck , and more and more case , make slower and slower , I think we should appeal after two year live-in caregiver job we could get our pr automatically, it's fair to every one , what do you guys think?

I agree with you Ying! 2 years of being away with our family is enough, and adding more years just to be with them is like a hell Sad so disappointed! I really hope that they will do something about it!
