I hope all the girls would like to do the same with rosellyalung, as wherever you are in the process , you just don't know how long you have to wait for the pr, we are asking for getting the permanent status automatically after complete our two year program , it's fair for everyone.

With the recent turn of events, those approaching the time when they should be submitting their applications should make sure that they are in status (WP valid), even without employers (can go on EI), health cards, SIN all valid. Note that once PR/OWP app has been sent, you are on implied status but without a valid WP, health card and SIN can only be used for 3 months (haven't read this part on the official govt site but read it somewhere on the forum). Request your current employers to extend your contract with them (sign a new one, that is how to extend it, could be under same conditions or with changes depending upon what you agreed) and also explain (hope they are willing to help you) that you'll stay with them till you receive your OWP (if that is what you want), or there is always the 2 weeks notice  I am in bc too. Am not 100% sure of this but I think you can apply for EI within 30 days after losing your job. @ jobseeker- would it be possible to apply for EI eventhough we are in process for around 8months
