I am on the implied status since Nov. 30,2011 and CIC approved my Open permit issued last dec. 4th.
Im on implied status since Aprill, 2011 and CIC approved OWP on Dec 4, 2011 |

Yeah. I guess they've released OWP's regardless if the applicant passed the requirements for 1st stage approval, that way he/she can find a job and not be a burden to Employment Insurance by staying unemployed or be not forced to stay as a live-in caregiver....
So the update of 17-18 mos processing time on the website still holds.
You're right Mrs. Just Tiis.....having the OWP doesnt mean you're approved in principle. The moment they received your application, they will issue the owp....I do hope that theres no hidden agenda behind this pilot project! and i think this only applies to those 2011 applicants or shall i say LiCs whos OWP is approved lesser than 17-18months. |

thanks teacherker my ecas still in process but i called cic hotline its confirm my wp is approved and mail already. Why is not yet updated or change bec im from quebec and we need to apply CSQ another application before getting PR.

Im guessing if CIC issued OWPs to those who are currently implied stauts or whose WP for LIC is about to expire.

Everybody is getting their work permit faster , great, but what is their agenda. I hope it doesn't mean that they will be taking a lot longer for pr for our families ?? And what about that the government cut the quota for caregivers for pr and so many of my friends want to work in canada but can not find job cause i hear over and over that government really want to shut down the lcp.  |

Hi Kalinka, Im July 2010 applicant and my work permit was extended till Sept 2012, and still waiting for my OWP. I talked to CIC agent and told me to wait till March 2012. |
