@ rosellyalung u dont need to apply 2x for Ei if they grant u in ei u will recive check every month up to 48 weeks unemployed they will stop that wen u start working dont worry ur in canada lol

Helloy guys! we have tried handing in the letter to our MP here in Alberta and he said that we should mail the letter directly to Jason kenney, i guess we should do that all of us will have to do it send letters to Kenney until he realizes our concerns

@ monalizy like I said before we don't have to worry with expired WP. If we sent PR application before our WP expires we are in "implied status". I tried applying a new WP for the same employer they sent my money back and a letter saying. "No action is being taken to process your request for the following reason : you hold implied status with your open work permit request received by 07 July 2010 at our office" |

hi Guys.. currently i am unemployed because my employer terminated my contract because he said he will lose his job.. my OWP and PR application was submitted last Oct 2010 and i am waiting for my OWP while unemployed... can i apply for EI?

@ sydneywhite- you can apply for health insurance prior to the expiration of your WP but they only give you 3-6 months extension. With SIN, they will not extend until you get AIP/OWP |

@ rosellyalung-your welcome. This is what you need to apply for health insurance. Not sure were exactly to mail/fax it because it differs on provinces. You just have to call them. 1)copy of your Care Card 2) copy of the CIC receipt you used to pay your work permit fee 3)brief letter that says something like “I submitted my applications for permanent residence and open work permit on _____ (the date you submitted them)____, before my work permit expired. I am currently on implied status. I would like to request an extension of my MSP coverage while my applications are in process.” Make sure that the letter contains your contact information and personal health number (found on your MSP card) |
