I suggest you to give your employer a written note with a date on it, and keep every evidence with you , as I have dealt with that for long time , till now I haven't got the right papers, she gave me two pieces of ROE though. I wish you better luck than me . By the way , that 's because she 's short of your money?

Hi Ying888 When did you complete your 24 months? I'm really understand how hard to deal with this kind of employers. Thank you for your suggestion. You are right!!! My employer did it to me. My income as show on T4 slip is more than my real saraly. After I asked her for a payroll statement and I recheck with my own record I found she paid me less than she recorded to CRA so I asked her about that then she said she'll give me all short of my money. I'll see what happen next?

You did very well , you have your own record and let her know , she must be thinking about that. I didn't track the hours I worked, as I would be upset about that, I worked more than 14 hours a day and seldom had days off . She only paid me the minimum , never paid me holidays and over time and she paid the CRA for my income tax almost zero, like five dollars a month, it's ridiculous , and she always refused to pay me check. I complained to CRA and Employment Standards , but I have no record to show I had worked so many over times , just ask her to change my record to CRA and ROE , she changed T4 of 2009 three times , ROE for twice , but still not right, and the employment Standards officers were so tired of this matter and at last they said sorry to me, for the ROE , I have to work three months more to complete my program. I left her family because I asked her to show my overtime pay on T4 so that I could apply for my PR two months earlier , but she said I had never worked enough every month , she gave me full time pay even though. I have struggling with that for more than 8 months , ever I asked a local MP, it has ruined my health, and now I give up , only tell myself to work and complete my program. I will submit my application in July. We should think about what rosellyalung is doing , we should let the government know what a deplorable situation we are in , and the long processing time would kill us . We work hard for Canada, and Canada should care about us.

Oh my GOD!!!! I hope you are ok! Keep out be strong it will pay well of in the end. By the way this is abuse in my opinion..... if you call CIC they start with "if you are calling about the new measurements for live-in caregivers in abusive situation press..." They will not give this employer an other positive LMO for years and etc etc....

Thanks AgiHun & HONEYGIRL , I didn't care about the money , I knew lots of sad stories about live-in caregiver , at least she always said thank you to me, nice to me except for shorting of my money. I just hoped not to change employers , because changing employers would waste time to get a new work permit . She got crazier because after last April, I asked her to show my overtime so that I could apply for my PR two months earlier , because I have a daughter far away from me ,I wanted to bring her with me as soon as I can. I complained at Employment Standards , but after some mediation meetings , she still sent me wrong papers , then I called everywhere that might help live-in caregivers , besides CIC, but didn't work it out , I am very sad about my experience in Canada. you guys can imagine , eight months , I ever got to another city to ask for help , my hope was just up and down , up and down, at last the result is despair. For my health I have to give it up , I have to save myself's life for my daughter. When I submit my application , I just show the 5 or 6 deffent papers for a same month, three different T4 for the same tax year, two ROE with different dates that shows my employment with her , actually my papers are much more messy that I can't describe. but that's not my fault. I was told , one more piece of paper I submit, will take immigration officers longer time to investigate, but what can I do ? If I write to the Minister of Immigration, I would say , why they allow the employers pay nannies cash, everyone knows what's going on, but still let it exist, it's a big shame. But I won't write to him , I prefer writing to the organizations and reports to appeal STOP ABUSING , STOP TAKING ADVANTAGE OF NANNIES , we dream a reasonable working situation . I am very much wondering how many live-in caregivers think about the same way with rosellyalung. I pray for every live-in caregiver.

I feel very sorry for you, Ying888. Luckily, I didn't have any paper problems with my employer, but working overtime for free is a common thing. I have never heard of any caregiver paid overtime. I work 12-14 hours a day too, but at least they give me some presents sometimes, take me to different concerts and events. But my 2 friends had the same problems with their employers. One girl had to wait for 3(!) months to get her papers from the employer to be able to apply for her PR. That lady HAD NO TIME to write out her pay slips, felt depressed, tired, didn't understand why she had to do that, didn't understand how to do it and so on and on... My employer called that lady and told her that she was playing with a risky thing. In two days my friend's papers were ready and she applied. My other friend had to wait for 7 weeks for her papers. The same problem. I had to call her and talked to that lady. It took just a few hours for that lady to write all the papers.
Don't you understand why these people are doing such things to us? - They are punishing us for working too well. If you work well, you'll get some more work to do. For free, as a bonus. They want to keep us in their families as cheap servants for as long as possible. The later they give us our papers, the longer we'll have to work for them. The worst thing about all this situation is that the CIC completely supports such employers and help them by keeping us waiting for the OWP and PR. And no one can do anything. I have already tied writing, calling and going to different MPs, sent a letter to the Minister of Immigration - no response, nothing... Nothing is left to do - just hope and pray...

Guys lots of us have same situation. Money is a small thing for me too but what she did to me was abuse so I show her I'm not that stupid and don't get adventage on me any more. I don't know how long I have to wait for documents to apply PR but last time I waited for 2 and a half months for documents for extend work permit now I'm on implied status but my SIN and OHIP card already expired.I kind of sad and worry because I had a knee surgery before health card expired but I still have follow up appointment and have to go rehap my knee. I called ohip office and they told me I have to pay for the appointments but if I got a new work permit and renew my health card within 90 days after work permmit expire I can claim my money back. I pray for everything goes faster but it goes opposit way now I have to wait 118 days to renew work permit!
