1. If you included your husband in your application for PR then you should pay the processing fee of $550 plus yours and with your application for  OWP which is $150, a total of $1250
2. Wait for your new work permit before submitting your papers for PR. Open Work permit can only be granted once you have received first stage approval ( APPROVAL IN PRINCIPLE ) of your application for PR. So you should submit your application for an OWP ( IMM 1249 ) together with your application for PR ( IMM 5002 )

Hi,  I'm also about to apply for my OWP/PR.  Been updating/accumulating my requirements.  I will apply this June and just renewed my passport here in Vancouver Ph. Consulate.  I guess you'll also be getting your spouse.  Am too, just my spouse and will pay same amount as yours CAD1250.00.

Hi plussy!- can i ask youi something?i am about to renew my passport in vancouver, do i have to phone them for the schedule of my renewal because i am from edmonton , i just want to make sure before i go to vancouver if what are the requiements for me to do thanks and good luck!i hope you can enlighten me

Yes, You have to phone them first to make an appointment.

I emailed them my desired date and time coz somehow they don't answer the phones.  They called me and gave the earliest vacant post.

Rosellyalung call them ASAP and if you cant contact them, email them your specifics.  Expect for a call after.  I was scheduled a week and a half after the conversation.

Your requirements are written on the second page of the e-application when you print them out from the website.  Bring the originals when you come here.

If you have no plans of picking up the renewed passport, which will take 7 weeks to 2 months, you can purchase a Canada Post envelope just across the street in West Pender and instruct them to mail your passport to Edmonton.

Thanks plussy. I will apply probably first week of April. Still waiting for my new passport (into my new married name) from PCG Vancouver (applied last feb 11, 2011) and still waiting for my Police clearances from Norway and Denmark, and at the same time waiting my salary this end of March so I can pay all the fees for the application.

where are you guys seeing the update ? There is no update for this week , it might get to 11-12 next week if they are still gonna be on March 21 bt for this week no news .

bt the date is still March 2 , if it was update it should be March 9 or 10 . Anyway I didn't see no update, my sight is leavin me .

The last update was March 2, and 11 months.. maybe they didn't update yet.. but mine was submitted on March 30 and received it March 31 and got my OWP last Feb 24..In time guys,,everything will fall in their proper places..
