        @          roxaida.. what I know is you need an employer to prove that you have a work to support your self when you come back here in Canada.  
Try to check on this CIC website if it help you: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp
or straight here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5256E2.asp (outside Canada means when you are here in Canada right now, you need to sent your application on nearest Canadian Embassy where you live, like me I leave in Ontario, so the nearest is on Buffalo, NY USA.)
or.. it is better to call CIC and ask an agent regarding your query, I know they could advice you more better of what you to do!
Try to call          @          8 in the morning, as soon they open, so not you wait longer on the line. Goodluck!  

  @   roxaida.. I checked your info and you are in BC, I think the nearest Canadian embassy you can submit your TRV application is in Seattle, Washington USA. I'm not sure with that but it is better you ask it also to CIC agent when you talk him/her tomorrow! But first, you need to secure all the requirements needed,


What are the requirements you must meet for a TRV?

* satisfy an officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay,
* show that you have enough money to maintain yourself and your family members in Canada and to return home,
* not intend to work or study in Canada unless authorized to do so,
* be law abiding and have no record of criminal activity,
* not be a risk to the security of Canada,
* provide any additional document requested by the officer to establish your admissibility, and
* be in good health (complete a medical examination if required).

I just called the hotline 127, and my owp is approved today!!!! So happy!!! Waiting time is 1 year minus 10 days.

 @  lyvly.. I think there is no limit on how many times you could renew your OWP!
The important is you renew before the expiration date comes!
But.. hope our PR comes before the renewal of our OWP!

Didnt you tell me that CIC received your application on July 8, 2010.
Pls correct me if im wrong.
Im sure your OWP will be issued shortly but it might be your pilot project OWP though.
Im a June 23 applicant and got that OWP as well.

called the CIC hotline 9pm today we received ur papers March 1,2011 and work permit has been approved December 4,2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GOD is so GOOD!!

Are you with dependents? because I am, and They received my in january 14, 2011 and started to process  in March 1,2011 too.
