Finally,my long wait is over!!!
i got my OWP last thursday(dec 08) after 17months
of waiting!!!

Hey guys, just wanna share what happened today, I got a call from someone from immigration this morning, she said that she's looking at my files and asked for the new passport infos. (cause the one I passed is expired). I got so excited that I actually forgot to ask if I will be receiving my owp soon, she said that's all the info she needed, and hang up. What do u think?

I just called the hotline 127, and my owp is approved today!!!! So happy!!! Waiting time is 1 year minus 10 days.  |

You need to call CIC and tell them your case. The instructions on the website are not clear as far as our case is concerned. I applied for a study permit in 2008, the requirements might already be different now. I don't recommend you use the online application as you are applying for your initial study permit. You can apply online for renewing though. That's what I did. Talk to a cic agent. But I guarantee you, as long as you provide them with the complete requirements, you will be granted one. The key requirement is getting a proof that you've been accepted at the school. I studied part-time but it was a 2-year program. |

Thank you for the info.
I have a theory that those covered by the Pilot Project OWP's are only given to 2011 applicants whose work permits already expired or those on implied status.
IS THERE ANY ONE ELSE ON THE FORUM??? 2011 APPLICANTS WHO GOT OWP ? Were you on implied status???
Got my OWP...2011 applicant but not on implied stat...i dont know what's their rationale...been thinking maybe LiCs whos taking care of the elderly...but then again some of my friends are taking care of kids....so i dont know anymore...they're not on implied stat as well....im out of ideas whats going on with the pilot project thingy....i hope theres no downside of this project. And one thing is sure....its very UNFAIR to 2010 married applicants...they're waiting for 18months or more...need to wait another 18months or more for their family...Kenney Jason sucks when it comes to family reunification----hes got no family himself! |
