I'll be qualified for applying the PR status on May 2011
And, i have some questions when the application is processing.
When i can apply for the open work permit? could I make it when I am applying for the PR at

the same time?

Do i need to work for my current employer until my application is approved? I mean before I get the open work permit.

And,Is there someone have succeeded in the application? how long does it take if the applicant is just myself?

hello amanda,

yes, you can submit your application for PR together with your open work permit...(I think it's witten on the instruction guide)  it's your option to still continue your employment with your current employer but you don't necessarily have to... but If I were you just to avoid complications I will stay with my employer (if they still need you) and wait for my open work permit...

yeah, there's a lot of people that I know who has successfully submitted their applications and got their open and PRs... you could check the cic website on how long is the current waiting time for an open and PR application.

Hope it helps... Goodluck Tongue
