live-in caregiver applied for open work permit, can get specific work permit?

I have same problem as this.been with employer for 3 yrs.. now waiting for my open permit.. but I want to get out of the job. im confused... what if ill get a live out job while my papers is on process, do i nee dto call CIC to let them know that i like to quit in the job??

You need to apply for a new work permit. You can't work for another employer without the WP. Whe not wait for your OWP in that way you don't have to spend another $150.00 for the WP. How long ago did you send your app?

Leave an emotionally draining situation but you need to work within the system. If you can find a new employer now then do so but you have to apply for a new WP after the new employer provide you with a LMO. You have a few more months to wait. Just that the length of processing now really sucks.

I have no idea kyzel when you ''ll get it. I applied on june 1 2010 and since that time I have no response from cic as well as many LICs who applied in April, May or June. WE are all praying for the situation being resolved. Anyway, you should be prepared for long wait cause it seems to me they can increase the processing time. 17-18 months for OWP is not a limit.
