Hi guys ! I am a Live in caregiver in Newfoundland. It's been for 2 weeks. and as you know, I am supposed to work as Full time hours for 2 years or 3,900 hours to be eligible to apply for PR later.

The thing is that, I've worked for 30 hours per week. and every websites says that the MAXIMUM hours are 40 hours per week in NL. and I've called CIC and provincial place, and they told me that they don't classify how many hours qualify full time hours. This sounds so irresponsible to me. Because this will be a big part of requirements.

I've read that it's considered in Ontario as full time work. But how can I make it sure in Newfoundland ?

and plus, does anyone would happen to know any other live in careigvers in Newfoundland ? it's been so hard to meet friends here.. if you so, please email me - realgolden @ naver.com
I'd really appreciate it !

Thanks and everyone cheers !!

It is currently 40 hours in Newfoundland.

Hours of Work    top
The standard working hours per week may be prescribed in regulations by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council. The present regulation sets a 40 hour week. Time worked in excess of those hours must be paid at an overtime rate of not less than one and one half times the minimum wage rate.
