Live in Caregiver, relocation in another Province

As for whether they can decide to randomly not provide you with a regular day or work and wages - I believe one of the conditions of the LMO and/or the employment contract required in order to get the LMO is essentially a guarantee to provide you with 44 hours of work per [/b]week.  I could be wrong on this, but that's my understanding.  So in my view it is not appropriate to randomly force you to take days off without pay...

Yes, and that confused me. So let me explain -- I am at work every day from 6 30 am to 5/5 30 pm. They pay me that extra hour like regular hour but not at the end of the month because they wait to gather hours. I do not know why. Also, they have vacation time twice in year, during summer time 5 weeks and winter time 2 weeks and in that time I can go back home and I will.

I do not know what will be during that period of time. That means they wont pay me when I am not at work? What about deduction?
Etc... a lot confusing stuff.

I have felling sometimes that people who are under this program - no matter how Canadas sistem is great - are deeply alone....

A live-in caregiver is very alone because there are no other employees to ask.  If you were a temporary foreign worker in a factory, hotel, restaurant or any other regular workplace, you would have a lot of people to ask if you are not sure about something.  As a live-in caregiver, being the only employee, you have nobody.  Maybe you can find some other nannies on the playground with "their" kids but maybe they will not know either and their employers may handle things completely differently.  That is why you should call the number that is on the top of those pages I linked to.  That is the Alberta employment standards.  They can tell you exactly what the rules are and if your employers are doing anything wrong.

Generally you should have 2 weeks vacation per year after the first year of work.  If they take more vacation than that, you probably will not get paid but again, call the number, explain to them how your employer is doing things and ask if that is within the law and if not, what they should be doing differently.  Then you can tell your employer that you have phoned to ask and that what they are doing is not within the law.  They may not like it but if they don't correct it and you put in a complaint against them with the employment standards, they could be barred from hiring a live-in caregiver again.
