licensed practical nurse queries, need help..:)

Good Day! i just have queries regarding the LPN's there in Canada. I'm from Philippines, a registered nurse and I applied for an LPN position in a consultant agency last December, 2009. I completed my immigrant application papers and I'm still waiting.I also took up the IELTS exam and got an overall band of 7.5 to complete their requirement.They told me that I still need to be registered in their province (Edmonton, Alberta) before I can work there as a licensed practical nurse. I just want to know how long will it take before they can approved the application? and I am kinda' in doubt if the company I applied in can be trusted, i mean if the application process they are doing is similar with yours? Also, when are they going to ask me to process my visa application?

I'm quite confuse. Should you have same situation, please reply.
