HI All!!

So, I had talked with Fabregas by email. I will have to change all poster...the poster that I had done will bring some issues for us...Too emotional and with less focus in our ideas....

It's not going to be easy....I will try do it this weekend...

I will keep in touch!

Hi!
Im happy Fabregas told you about the poster.
Yes, to be honest I was a bit concerned about some issues too..
I believe do another one with a different focus is the best.
If yo need any help to make it let me know. We can do it together.

Have a great weekend you all!
See you people from Toronto and around this aft Wink

Meeting to plan the protest - Saturday - Oct 8th - 1p

Address: 606 gerrard street east (Broadview and gerrard)
The place is a community centre that caregivers and members of migrante drop in on saturdays.

In general, on this meeting we will talk about:
- what we need to do to show the population what we are going through and get them to help us to solve the problems on the LICP
- what we need to do to show to the government what we are going through, give them our ideias about how to make the LIC Program better, get some answers and the program working better.
- tools in hand for the protest: posters, flyers, megaphone ...
- invite 'key people' to help us on the protest
- set the day, time, location of the protest in Toronto

Bring your thoughts and ideas!

hows the meeting? please give us update.

Update about the meeting on Oct 8

Hello everyone,

The meeting was a great start.
Only 3 people from this forum attended but as Chris told us there: We can start small. When ideas are better settle more people will get interested.
The meeting was done just before a group of Filipino Nannies showed up there for a get together they do every Saturday on that building.
We used the opportunity to ask them what they are aware about on the LIC. Some of them didn't know about the delays they are going to expect and some other issues. So explained to them.
The time to talk about the protest was short. But we are going to schedule another meeting for maybe next Saturday and now that we already know each other it will be easier to go right to the point.
On the next meeting we are going to talk about what we need to focus on this protest so we can be heard.

I will let you all know when I get more info about data/time for next meeting.

I have more thoughts to share with all of you but I need to get them in order first so I can post here Wink

StrikeNannies: how is the the poster idea going? I got a flyer very interesting that was done for a rally on international woman's day and I think would be great to do something like this for us invite other nannies for the day of the protest.

Girls!!

I'm very busy right now, I barely sat this weekend to work on it. It has to be very well done and i'm doing 2 courses right now beside I'm working...If someone has more free time and it's up to do it, I'll be very glad...

I can send the previous poster for whoever decide to work on it.

I'm so sorry girls...But i'm still here and I will try to come with more ideas at the end of this month...

Protest now!

I'm sitting with a friend that works at human resources on saturday, she will help me to set up the poster...

She understand law too, it's going to be a awesome poster!!!

I'm so angry and frustrate that I will print a thousand of those posters and sent to all Canada!!!

Please let's be together at this time...something has to happen, this situation it's getting crazy!!!

18 months, no health care, abusive employers, caregivers hurt, low wage, families far away, no answers, cic doesn't know what to do...it's  chaos!!!
