Hi all,

Please let me have your comments regarding the Reference letter, which my employer issued. Your assistance is highly appreciated. The text is below.

Date: ....................

To: Whom It May Concern
Subject: Letter of Reference for XYZ

The abovementioned was employed as an Accountant in ABC LLC in the period ............to .........................
His professional duties included, but were not restricted to the following:
1.   Selected accounting software, established a full accounting system and chart of accounts in accordance to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
2.   Handled complete books of accounts independently including books of cash transaction, bank reconciliation, inventory and stocktaking, salary and staff gratuity calculations according to the UAE Labor Law and other related jobs;
3.   Performed accounting functions such as PNL, cash flow, balance sheets preparation and maintenance of accounting and financing jobs;
4.   Analyzed financial statements and reports and provided financial advise to the owners and Management of the Company;
5.   Trained and supervised junior accountants, examined accounting records prepared by them

XYZ did an excellent accounting job for our Company and was an asset to our organization during his tenure with the office. He would be an asset to any employer and I recommend him for any endeavor he chooses to pursue.

Thank you!

dear frd
It is a reference letter .. is ur employer giving u the experience  certificate  ... it will also include the same  as it is mentioned here ..
ask your employer to refine it more and mark some good points in it and it shud look like  an official  reference letter   issued from the office   and not the exp certificate and  it shud be on  letter head
with official stamp and card of that person  who is giving u the letter of reference ...
rest lets see what other say

It looks good, but I would make sure there are no abreviation such as PNL (or P&L) because the reader of the letter is morelikely not an accountant and may not understand what it says. In addition, use some of the key words from the official job description provided for 1111 to be more precise in the duties.

Thank you Mohit and AD2310 for your comments. Smiley

Mohit, what is the Difference between Reference letter and official Experience certificate?
According to my manager, this is an official reference letter, showing my experience; however I may convince him to revise it...Please correct what needs to be changed in the text. You may post here or alternatively send a PM. Thank you guys!
