for my letter of invitation is it enough to show paystubs from me and my wife as proof of income? i would also like to include my income tax returns but i will not be getting it in another month. are paystubs enough?

Hi, if you are in a rush, then you may attach copies of pay stubs with invitation letter.  If you have the other year's tax returns, you may also use those if you wish with an explanation on the letter of invitation why you cannot provide 2008 tax return. 

If you are not in a rush, 2008 tax return would even be better.
