hey guys , i am collecting some important documents as i am going back to settle in Toronto on september 7th , I just collected the letter of authentification of my driving license from the traffic poilice and vehicle management of my city here in China but i noticed that the letter is not on an official letter head but rightly signed and stamped with the official seal of the issuing department ,
Do you think i should go back there and insist on the official letterhead thing or should the one the have already issued be enough? , the letter contains all the informations required  in Canada though,as it was in their system already.
thanks for helping!

Try to get the letter on their official letter head if they does not give on letter head then you can have it on a plain paper and signed by the concerned authority and properly stamped...............

Hi Zagalo,

Mine was accepted without letterhead. The lady on the counter asked me though why it is not on official letterhead. I told her, this is the way our MTO authority issues letter of authentication, it is a standard format. She went inside to ask her senior, and it was accepted. This letter was affixed with my picture with a MTO stamp on it. My wife's letter was also accepted same way. However it is always better if you could manage to get it on official letterhead.

Btw, I also had a International driver's permit, but they did not accept it.

Thanks brother , i just came back from the traffic authorities bureau , i explained that i need the letter on an official letterhead , the lady went in to ask the leader but came back to tell me that this is the way the issue authentification letters , there are no other ways , no letter head , they just use a plain paper and copy the informations from their system then stamp it however , the letter contains all the necessary infos about my license  , that is what they have been doing for all the people requesting that document , i even insisted that they should add my photo and stamp it she said it 's a government procedure and they can't change it just for me , so now i just have to take that letter , its translation and the translation of my chinese driving license to Toronto , i just hope they will accept it .
Thanks again!
