letter from the employer

Could any one of you please let me know whether we need to send original letters of reference(experience letters) from employer or just copies are sufficient? This is for AINP application process.

The reason I am asking is that for original letters, my employer is going to take a week, but if it just a copy, he can scan the document and email to to me ASAP.
