letter from the Canadian Consulate General requesting the certificate

Hi seniors or advisors,

Anyone can tell me where or how or which letter can i get from the canadian consulate general requesting the certificate of NO criminal records? is it just the AOR that we received? or is it another letter that we need to write to them or how can we get this letter so that i can request for a certificate of no criminal records from the police station.

Also, can anyone tell me if i have lived in many countries, since 18 yrs old, do i have to request for every countries certificate of no criminal record or just the countries that i have lived in the past 10 yrs or how many years?  cause i have worked and lived in several countries and some of these countries are far from where i am working now.

I think you should be able to obtain it without any letter. It's your right. I applied for my through the London Metropolitan Police and I got it in ten days. Just go to the responsible station and apply in person if you can.

Unfortunately yes. You will have to obtain clearance from all countries you have since the age 18years. That's CIC rules.

What if i have lived in the US during my undergraduate studies and i am living in asia now and they require fingerprint in the US for FBI report, and i am not able to fly over there just to get a finger print stamp for the report? headache indeed!

Abelkwh,

The FBI clearance is actually relatively easy to get.  You do not need to have the fingerprints taken in the USA, but you can go to a local police station in most cases.  Note that if you lived in the USA you will ALSO have to get a PCC from each state you lived in.   That is the real headache - I had to get 4 countries and 7 US states.

VERY FEW countries require a request from CIC to obtain a PCC.

Search this forum for information on police clearance certificates specific to the countries. 

If you still have questions - BE SPECIFIC - what country do you currently reside in, what country(ies)/states you need information for...

You need PCC from each country in which you have lived for atleast 6 months at a strech (continuously) starting from your age of 18 yrs.

Also, you need to visit the cic website which gives specific info on coutries from which you need to get the PCC and how you can go about gitting it. I think the link mentioned about is the one.

Also, PCC is needed to be submitted while you submit your application to the local CHC. That is after you get the AOR and the instructions from the CIO,NS stating that you can submit your app to the local CHC.

are u living in the US now? i am currently living in China and i am working full time, the FBI report states that it states that the processing times are between 16 to 18 weeks, even if i fly back to US to obtain that, it would not meet the processing time of 120 days which i must file to the local office. Also, i am a lecturer with a university, and i cannot take time off to fly back to US to just get the police report. So can i simply write an explaination?

I have lived in HK, so does this mean i also must fly to Hk to get the police report? Since i am living in Shanghai, China, can i just submit the China police report as a whole?

I just noticed that Hong Kong police requires a letter from canadian consultant general requesting certificate. how can where can i get this certificate for the HK police for me to file the no criminal record?

Actually it is usually only 3-4 weeks, put a required date on the envelope.  You have to get the FBI and the state certificates, no ifs, no buts, no explanations.  For the HK certificate, you require a letter from the processing office. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/asia-pacific/hong-kong.asp

Not sure why you think you need to fly to the US to obtain the FBI clearance. NO NEED to go there, you can do it by mail.   You can print the FBI card, get your fingerprints done wherever you live, and apply by mail.  It's all in the instructions.  As for getting fingerprints done in Shanghai... anyone out there?

i emailed the buffalo visa office long time ago and they send one to me within a day or two. You should email them or the embassy in China.
