Hi,
im just wondering exactly what kind of content is needed in these letters. I know they should say that they see me and my common-law as a couple, and also when they first met him. But im struggling as to what other information should be put in?

thanks

I was wondering the same thing, but then I ended up just having them write a small letter saying that they are aware of the relationship and that they (both families) support and encourage us and wish us best of luck, etc

Not sure if thats what we are supposed to do, but whatever, its sent.

I found a form on an australian immigration site awhile back and made a sample letter to send my family/friends. I can't find the site now but what I sent out was like this:

                                                                                               DATE

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

I NAME OF PERSON, of LOCATION, solemnly declare that PRINCIPAL APPLICANT NAME and SPONSOR NAME have maintained a real and honest relationship. I also believe their marriage to be genuine and continuing. I have known PRINCIPAL APPLICANT for # year(s) and SPONSOR for # year(s). I have known about their relationship for # year(s).

Also include in letter

1. How you know the applicant and the applicant's sponsor and indicate how often you have been in contact with them.

2. Give reasons for your belief

3. State andy other matters you wish to add

                                                                                 NAME
                                                                                 SIGNATURE
                                                                                 ADDRESS
                                                                                 PHONE NUMBER

I also included a copy of this with my application and explained that this is what i sent out so that they wouldn't be suspicious of why everyones letter sounded alike. Hope this helps :)
