Ok, here's a question I'm hoping some may have insights on:

so suppose I get my medical done next month and submit the application outland (we both currently live and work in the UK) right afterwards.  I understand that Mississauga will send it to the London VO once my wife is approved as my sponsor.

If it took them, say, five months (optimistic I know, but this is for argument's sake) to determine the application, would they really give me a whole seven months to land in Canada (that being a total of twelve months to the expiry of the medical)?  Or is it more likely that they would impose an 'artificial' date by which I must land which is sooner than the expiry of the medical?

For those of you whose applications were processed quickly, how much time did you have to take up residency?

Cheers for any advice Smiley

Married couple no kids, she Canadian, me British, applying outland.  Both live and work in the UK, married 4 years, together 9 years.  Should be straightforward....surely?

Hi,
Please check the trackitt.com site and go to family class - spouse for your visa office. Lot of case time lines are posted there.

The visa will be valid for 1 year from the date of the medical or the expiry of the passport, whichever comes first.
