I just recently married my husband who is a Moroccan citizen on March 17,09 in Morocco.I had started the sponsorship application in Jan,09 as a conjugical partner.I have since sent the immigration in Rabat our marriage certificate to update our status. Can anyone share success stories with me and tell me how long I can expect to wait till he joins me here in Canada? The distance is very traumatic to both of us.Thanks

InshAllah you guys get your Visa soon. It is hard to tell how long it will take, it depends on each case, and you can see online that 80% of the cases are approved in 7 months.

So I take it he is from Agadir? Awesome city!

I am Canadian born, to Moroccan parent. Morocco is awesome, I have family in Taroudant, Agadir, and Rabat.

I traveled Morocco quite a bit also, and I live in Agadir, when I visit. If I could live their permanently I would, inshAllah.

My husband was born in Jerada but has lived in Taroudant now for about 10 years.Since you have experience with canada and Morocco,I'm sure he'd love to touch base with you once he's here to help him adjust to his new surroundings.I'm trying to prepare him as best I can about what to expect here.Canada too is a wonderful place to live.I hope he will come to love living in Newfoundland, incha allah

Actually, the processing timelines show that 30% of cases are finalized in 7 months through Rabat, not 80%.  Rabat is currently finalizing spousal applications in 7-9 months, plus add a month for processing of the sponsor's eligibility at the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga before the file is transferrred to Rabat.  So you're probably looking at close to the end of the year.
