Hello

My husband (from England) entered Canada Feb of 2009 as a visitor.  We got married three weeks later.  Since then we have filed for two extensions on his original entry into country.  We have yet to decide if we will go inland or outland at this point and we have had no issues with receiving the extensions.  The last extension expires this October.  My question is my husband would like to return to England for his mothers' 90th birthday in September and return in a couple of weeks.  He thinks he will have no issues returning - I on the other hand fear there might be a problem and don't want the grief and headache that come with a refusal to enter.

Any thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated.
thanking you in advance.

There should be no problem as long as he doesn't have any convictions in his past.

Just remember, they CBSA are under no obligation to admit him as he doesn't intend to leave, so he isn't coming in as a visitor as such.

As he is from a visa exempt country, he is allowed to enter, and stay for 6 months, and that will have to be extended if ye still haven't submitted his PR.  - once its submitted he is on implied status waiting a PR decision

BTW, why did ye wait so long to apply?

Hi

So if he returns before this extension expires in October things should be ok?  To be honest we just haven't got around to the PR paper work and now I'm thinking that outland is the way to go as he may have to return to England at any given time to be there for his Mother.

thanks

when he re-enters, all going well, the will give him another 6 month stay.

When i extended my stay, i had the choice to drive to a border, or apply, which i did as i have criminal rehabilitation issues, so avoiding the border is kinda important!!
